Going to be an interesting battle for second place.

I really, really doubt that. Xbone will easily outsell WiiU, I guess.

It won't do it easily, but it's certain it will.

Over years, it will do quite easily ;) But generally I think it's sad that Nintendo is underperforming with WiiU. We need a strong competition in gaming and this gen won't be a good competition, sadly.

You mean to tell me a console priced at 250 euros outsold one that costs twice as much?

NO WAY!!!

But, but..... the one priced at 250 euros has no  relevant games!  That's a well known fact!

Yeah, it's amusing how people say the Wiiu isn't selling because it has no games but when it does outsell a console, it's because it's cheaper.

The PS5 Exists.

Lol some of you will anything positive about the wiiu. Xbox1 will surpass wiiu eventually. Once it's heavy hitters come out and the major 3rd parties hit the market. Japan won't save the wiiu

You would hope so, but stranger things have happened.

Why would I hope so?

Competition is good for all.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I know but this won't mean Xbone doesn't outsell WiiU anytime soon.

It doesn't mean it certainly will though either. Your assumption that companies like EA wouldn't drastically reconsider their attitudes to Nintendo, or Sony, following this news is just as ignorant.

With the sales it is at now. it is going to take a long time to surpass it.

Probably, but it's a closer competitition then I would have thought a few months ago.

What? My what? My assumption? Well, whatever. Time will tell who is right.

It's a competition which just started... And the gap is already quite close, especially considering the headstart of WiiU. I think we should revisit this thread in a year and see how close numbers are by then.
