Forums - Sony - Borderlands 2: Vita vs. consoles.

Already have mine preordered on Amazon. BL2 is icing on the cake. I have a whole bunch of Vita titles waiting to be played on my PS+ account.

Great job on the port it seems, although I feel we need some gameplay footage to be sure of it.

To people saying 3DS graphics, Really? Show me some 3DS game that looks even half as better as that in that resolution. 3DS cannot do this.

Crow eaten Looks good I have to say.

However, its not open world, so let me say, 3DS cannot do such graPhics on an open world shooter

However, still BL would be better I assume (Iron Galaxy has experience on Vita). There is just one screenshot there for BL Vita. Plus its open world. Like I said earlier, we need gameplay footage to ascertain exactly how it would feel on Vita.

Edit- I remember how that site flogged this as an contemder to UC Vita. That screen is 800x480, while 3DS top screen is 800 x 240. Can some enlighten me on resolution difference? Was supersampling used there?

On topic, its pretty useless debate right now. The original Vita screen is taken from here-
http://us.playstation.com/psvita/systems/psv-borderlands-2-bundle.html

Plus, that image is just 540x 302, way less than Vitas native 960 × 544.
And a bad job is done with 360 and PC screens. I would wait till some more official screens and videos are released.

You guys ask some might big questions.

I have no idea what's going on there.  The 360 version looks really bad for some reason.  The PC version looks really good, but who knows what it's running at.

But I can say that the Vita version really looks good, much better than I expected.

It's because there is a lot more going on in the background of the 360 game. Far higher level of detail...just blurrier. Vita is using some coding magic to make it seem as if the same content is being shown.

3DS is 400X240 in 2D mode and in 3D mode the resolution is the same for each image but it's rendered twice, hence 800X240. I read somwhere stating that 3DS runs revelations in 800X480 and downsamples it, but I have a hard time believing it. On that site there are even 720p screenshots, so I have no clue what's going on there. Here's what that image looks like without that website's magic.

It seems to be a bullshot though, as it was released during E3. Best yo just find a playthrough on youtube.

Chillout people... It will look better on the smaller OLED Vita screens.

Bullshot confirmed then. Love how that is flogged around. Especially how this was supposedly on level with Uncharted Vita. Just hilarious.

not impressive at all by vita. Super smash for 3ds does look way better.

There is also a version of revelations on psn and xbla which is 720 so be aware of screenies from that and not to confuse them with the original game. Having finished the game on the 3ds tho it really is beautiful and a testament to what can be done on the 3ds when devs bother to put in the effort.

As for it being hilarious to say that it's on the level of golden abyss... I wouldn't say so, both games have their moments and set pieces, Revelations has a massive sea monster boss you would not see the likes of in Uncharted.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Well it is a great looking game for what it's worth, but yeah 3DS is miles behind Vita.

Also just fyi Uncharted is 720X408. It's not running at the Vita's native resolution.
