Overshipped it seems. D0med. Kind of expected, that's why I figured it would have a decent second week in Japan compared to the US.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
I'd be curious to hear what the total stock allocated for the launch was at. Further reports say initial stock sold out with follow up shipments to come, same as the rest of the global regions.
At any rate, the launch numbers should put the PS4 past the Wii U, not that this is particularly impressive or surprising.

Wasn't Wii U launch during holiday season though? I would assume that would make the PS4's numbers more impressive considering what Wii U did was during the holidays when sales are always elevated.

It's not that the rate of PS4 sales isn't impressive; it is. It's just that the Wii U hasn't been selling enough over the past year to make it much of a milestone for the PS4 to pass.
Sony needs to work with Jap Devs, get more Dev Kits in to devs hands
force ports if they have to, a PS4 with Persona 5 is a lot more appealing then a PS4 with nothing
