TarHeeLsALLday said: Not surprised that it bombed in Japan at all. PS4 has no games that Japanese people want to play and home consoles have been on a huge decline over there. Now Sony will have to turn their attention back to the Western side of the world and figure out how they are going to compete in March against Titanfall. |
Just lol.

They need to do everything they can to keep up that 3:1 ratio lmao.

that was funny :) Sony has to figure out how to continue to sell more than 5 times as much as One in Europe and more than One in NA :) Right now PS4 has a bigger user base than One by roughly 2.3M ! Titanfall will not be a system seller, for the last time. We are in low season, Titanfall is also available on 360, which looks very close to the XBox One version, and available for PC, the best version; also the game is not a masterpiece, just a funny game to play with average graphics, my opinion; and in March PS4 will have Infamous SS and MGS : GZ, which will push PS4 MORE than One; Not even Halo5 will ever change anything, apart from boosting a bit One for a couple of weeks...

Sure Titanfall is not a system seller, you can see it isn't because of the position it holds in the USA pre-order chartz:

Thats quite a low number of pre-orders actualy, the game will probably sell around 1 mil units and move around 100k XOnes on the first couple of weeks and thats that, imo for a game thats bound to get perfect 10s across the board from all critics (we know it will regarldess of quality its a FPS with mechs critics are already sold on the game and wont be impartial at all on reviews) its very low. Do take in consideration that pre-orders are generaly from ppl who already own the console so taking that as a measure of potential for the game to push new sales is dumb. Also important to notice that the second place on pre-orders is Destiny on PS4 with almost the same amount of pre-orders as Titanfall with the diference that Destiny dont even have a release date yet. Wich of these 2 games do you think will sell better ?
I guess the whole Japanese PS4 beeing avaliable on shelfs deal is just a matter of Sony shipping a lot of units there to avoid supply constraints. My prediction is around 300k PS4s week 1 wich would be pretty decent considering how the Japanese console market has been strugling.

While I agree with your points, Destiny has had a release date for months now. Everytime a Titanfall-Destiny conversation breaks out there are several members of this site that state the same thing about Destiny's release date. It's September 9th, 2014 as Bungie announced this in the first week of December.

True that was my bad I forgot about that anouncement. Well anyway the point stands (kinda) Destiny is a game that wont launch for a long time and the numbers of pre-orders are almost the same.
Just a quick disclaimer, Im not bashing the X-One btw as Destiny on the X-One also has a very good pre-order number, Im merely pointing that branding Tintanfall as a system seller based on pre-order numbers doesnt work
Ty for correcting me in a polite way btw.
