I played with the PS4 for about 30 mins before going to sleep. The bump in resolution was actually quite apparent. It was like going from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back where everything was dirty and gritty to Attack of The Clones where everything was smooth and clean. Too clean, actually! I kinda wish I'd grabbed a different PS4 game. Graphical flaws that I didn't notice on 360 became all too apparent in the PS4 game. It was like buying an HD vesionof God of War for the PS3 when the game was made for PS2. Some of the magic disappears.
There's a lot for me to learn about the PS4 but so far, I'm pleased with the purchase. It really feels like a PS3 on steroids and not a whole new experience but that's fine. I didn't need them to reinvent the wheel. The controller felt good during gameplay but didn't blow anything else out of the water. Definitely an improvement from the capable Dual Shock 3, though. Interface was slick and intuitive as always. I can't wait to get home and play some more.
--Oh, and I also got DKC for the Wii U. The game was a lot of fun but the graphics were less detailed than I had hoped. It was also really sharp looking and fun. I'm gonna be jumping between DKC and Tomb Raider for a while. Meanwhile my copies of Fable Anniversary and Lightning Returns remain in shrink wrap for over a week.
