Lol so far Sony has been "perfect" this gen from both a gamer and business perspective. In the humble words of EA, "can't be better when you're already number one."

E3, brand name and pricing have helped Sony more than anyone will ever know. Yes, thats enough to send shockwaves your way, but theres still more ground to be covered.

Those might be the big ones, but still they have been "perfect" so far. The closest they've been to screwing up was making PS+ needed for online play, but even that worked out without a problem. Let's go point by point.

1. The PS4 has the order and deep down as its big 3rd party releases for the year. Microsoft has Titanfall and Sunset Overdrive. Really though this point shouldn't be about buying games, but just having games. Does it matter to a PS4 owner if Destiny is on XBOX or not? It'll affect console sales, but gamers are unaffected. I think I'd agree more with this point if it was about stopping Microsoft from obtaining 3rd party exclusives. Luckily for Sony the sales will do that on their own.

2. Why does this apply? Microsoft was just as artsy during the launch. Plus these ads work much better actually than just showing gameplay. Really only core gamers would prefer just gameplay, but those people can simply watch trailers.

3. lol

4. Do you have something against Taco Bell. Those ads were on nonstop for weeks before launch. Also both Sony and Microsoft advertise a lot in movie theaters.

5. They're much better at this today than they were last gen. Especially with indies they have content coming out every week. Looks good to me.

I could do that but not pertaining to launches. Sony's strengths require fans who understand long term investment. Sony does things that work out better for them in the long run rather than the here and now for fans.

lol I think 99% of gamers are going to have to disagree with you there.

Microsoft's marketing has been a turn off for me. I'm not a male college student or anywhere near the demographic that Microsoft is going for with the XB1. They seemed more inclusive with the Xbox 360. Alan Wake and Fable are what got me to buy the 360, not Halo.

I would say Microsoft does a great job marketing to a specific group. When they said at E3 years ago, "We have Halo, Gears of War and Call of Duty, all the games you want!" it spoke to this. The whole Mountain Dew, Taco Bell, Doritos (three products I cannot stand) demographic from the images above. I do not begrudge them, but some party with techno club music is just not my scene.

Sony plays a broad game, which is why it has so much success across various markets.  Killzone and Gran Turismo are meh to me, but I love Ratchet and Clank, God of War and Last of Us.  Sony's wide net means that you can be a JRPG fan and fit in as much as a shooter fan, a plat former fan or a racing fan.  Right now looking at major successful launches all around the world while Microsoft is really hurting in Europe and Asia it seems Sony's strategy is the winner to me.

Actually Sony did nothing but preserve the status quo. Their positive press came from staying out of the DRM issue with Microsoft and EA. Price point was fixed and they fixed UI issues. The work is never done.

Most of your points have to do with ms spending money, and barely getting anything out of it. Do you want sony to money over little gain?

For what Microsoft lacks in creativity they make up for with commercialism and courting third party. Sony needs to do the same.

And untl now that hasn't worked out for them. Sony are fine when it comes to creativity, they do not need to spend millions to not even get exclusives or to pay mainstream performers. Also i fail to see how doritos and mountain dew are going to sell ps4s.

Looks at sales figures, looks at list, scratches head and leaves the thread.

The PS5 Exists.

Alright I'll bite.

1. Sony got The Order 1886 exclusive and they're going to be heavily marketing Destiny as a PS4 game. They'll probably have a Destiny bundle when the game comes out.

2. Sony's marketing has been fantastic for the PS4. The Perfect Day commercial gets everyone talking. Microsoft on the other hand has been rather bland and generic with their marketing.

3. The XBO launch event was a complete catastrophe. No thanks.

4. Increased advertising? Sure I agree. But more ads isn't always the right choice. Microsoft spent billions advertising Windows Phones yet it hasn't done much good. I'm one of like 3 people that actually owns one.

5. Not sure your point here, Infamous comes out in March, Driveclub in the summer, The Order in the fall, and Uncharted in the holidays. They've got a steady stream of games coming all year.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
