Forums - Sales - Sony/Microsoft extremist: Do you still think 360 and PS3 can pass Wii in lifetime sales?

I think the PS3 still will(360 no way).

Around the Network

nope, no chance. not even combined will they make up the 20 mil left take over the current levels of wii.

It depends what levels they will be at by the end of 2014, when eventual pricecuts have hit.

When we see how they do at lower prices, we will be able to determine the outcome. Its not looking likely with current figures, but who knows what the future could hold with $100 cuts, value bundles and continued expansion in new markets.

Never gonna happen.

It won't happen. End of story

PS3 could. We're seeing big drop offs in established markets like America and Europe, but it's still too early to predict how it'll keep doing in the rest of the world.

Unless something very bizarre happens with China, then no. It was never a very realistic prediction anyways.

It's looking more unlikely but it depends on ps3 price cuts also if sony will expand and keep selling in other markets like what occurred with the ps2.

Here's a quick graph I made of "other" regions yearly sales.

It seems to have peaked in 2012, but without more data it's hard to project.

The PS3 did 6.4 million last year in US+EU+JP. If that holds up to do 4 million in 2014, 2 million 2015, 1 million 2016, and 1 million rest of life, that puts sales at 90 million. "Other" could push it close to Wii, but I doubt it'll pass it.

PS3 will, 360 could eventually make it to 90 mio, which isn't bad.
