Forums - Gaming - Preorder Charts February 15 Up! Titanfall Dominates Everything!

As expected, it's a multiplayer-only shooter and Americans just love these, especially when mechs are involved like here in Titanfall or aliens like in Halo or Destiny. So these are games which are already successful or obviously will be successful in USA. Therefore I predict 450k for Titanfall (XOne) and 350k for Infamous: Second Son in the first week after their respective launches in the US.
Whereas in Europe and in the rest of the console market Infamous will be stronger than Titanfall: So 400k for Infamous: Second Son and 250k for Titanfall.

If this game was multiplat Destiny would definitely have no destiny. LOL

That's an odd thing to say, Destiny has nearly 500k pre-orders in one terroritory alone with no solid release date. It's going to be very big.

You probably miss the "if this game was multiplat" part.  Just saying.

No, I read that part...

Obviously you did not.

What are we, on a merry-go-round?

Yes I did read that part.

I'm just confused as to why he thinks Destiny 'would have no Destiny' given that hes looking at pre-order numbers when coming to his conslusion, yet its clearly evident, from the same set of numbers, that Destiny is set to have a very big release, even on the Xbone.

Yes. All I wanted was to diss playstation fans for just now realizing how great Infamous is, only because there is not much else to hype about.

Where were those people when Infamous 1 and 2 actually needed the sales?

Sales weren't too bad, you have to consider the 2nd game was offered for free through PS Plus and Sucker Punch is only a small to medium sized studio (fluctuating between 50-70 employees).

Besides, they're stilll making games in the same franchise. While that's not 100% proof, it's likely they got the sales they needed to have future projects greenlit.

It had a few sales but never the anticipation. People now are saying "Wow amazing", "such innovation", "much grafix", "so cool" even though it pretty much looks the same as the first games, just with more pixels.

Yes, I'm realising right now that apparently I'm an Infamous hipster who thought Infamous was cool before all y'alls!

To be frank, the "discussion" (hah) seen in this thread is extraordinarily petty and, let's be honest here, just embarrassing (Other mods have used the term "seriously depressing").

How many sly digs and shots at "the opposing team" are you all going to make until you're satisfied? How many drive-by retaliation posts (He "insulted" PlayStation 4 so now I have to attack Xbox One!!!) do I have to moderate? (So far, 3 posters have been banned for their petty behavior. ).

This thread is a poor representation of the standards that gamrConnect strives for. I don't care about your console or company preferences, but at least have the decency and common courtesy to have constructive discussion that actually adds something to these forums.

Sure, it has less competition now, it's one of the first big exclusives and visually it looks fantatic. It's also got new gameplay, setting and characters. It's not surprising it's getting hyped.

"Just with more pixels" would almost be enough for me. (As long as it plays more like the first game than the 2nd.) There is a little more to it than that though.

Still surprised at Infamous. Probably just hyped because there is not much else.

edit: The next one who quotes this and mentions the X1 will win a free trip to ignorance lane.

Free trip?! Gimme

sorry, but it seems you missed that part from his comment.

Titanfall is not on Sony's consoles and yet it manages to get the most hype of any game currently this year.. Can you imagine if Titanfall WAS on Sony's consoles?

No offense, but if it was, destiny would not have had so much hype... it is only getting this hype because it will be Sony fans first good 1st person shooter [ No offense to KZ]...

Yes, If titanfall was completely multiplatform, it would be the biggest New IP this year, both in Hype and Sales [COD Sales].

I'm guessing you don't classify CoD or BF as good, either?

Destiny is getting hype because it looks like a great game, and it's being made by formerly MS' biggest exclusive devs. Just imagine if ND suddenly left Sony and announced a multiplat game. They have the pedigree and they've proven it looks great.

I can understand that. Point proven.

Believe it or not, I did consider those things.

Destiny has 200k pre-orders on the Xbone, it's not just getting hyped by one fanbase.

We'll see how titanfall performs, but Destiny will be a big release regardless, even if Titanfall sold GTA numbers.
