I said 20%-30%
because even though it is not their most relevant market that are left... The sheer (not sure of the spelling) amount of countries left will make a bump....

now it doesn't really matter if launches now or later this year... What they need is a good opportunity to do it.. A simple launch won't be different now or later or at least not by much... They need an event, a big ad campaign and a bait... Like a good bundle with a game or a year of live... Do that when game for gold comes out... And maybe a 50bucks price cut on the bundles..
now you have china also to look after, this could either be a dud or a big hit for MS....

bit done right I'm convinced they can grab sales up to 30% or even more with a big megaton (which is not likely right now).. With a regular launch with nothing special 20% is doable but way harder imo

So you think MS did hold back on these countries by intent?

Wouldn't a later launch already be less successful by default? It's hard to do marketing if half of the people don't care because they already bought the other system.

April and October according to the leak. As for how big of a boost they'll bring, the remaining countries where the Xbox One hasn't released accounted for about 20% of the 360's sales. Plus the Xbox One has a new market that wasn't there last gen, China, hard to tell how things will go there.

I don't know why people still mention China. It will not open any time soon, at least not in the next 2 years. When it does Sony will as well have found a way to enter the market. I don't think the "Chinese hate Japan" matters much in this regard.

XBox One has been readily available in Switzerland for almost a month now.
Same in Belgium.
I suspect Mediamarkts/Saturns/whatever they are called in you country (over 700 stores all over mainland Europe) in other countries have also started to sell them within the last few weeks. We would need pictures from other countries for final proof, but if they trickled into Switzerland and Belgium, they must have also trickled into other countries. So in the end, don't expect to see any noticable increase once they "officially" launch in the rest of Europe.

The only reason MS hasn't released in all territories is so they an have a valid argument for the sales disparity. If you divide the two console's sales by their available regions, Xbox 1 is absolutely murdering Ps4. Plus Xbox gamers have killed more zombies this generation then Ps gamers. Sony should adjust their projected losses to 999,999,999,999.99 USD

No I just think that launching tomorrow or in 3 months with nothing special won't matter much for lifetime sales.... If they want to boost them, over regular market shares they'll get anyway they need to make a boom and that needs the right conditions... So waiting for them might be smart if it is what they are planning. if not like I said now or later won't matter much (as long as it is there for the holiday season of course)

now people saying it won't matter... You do realize even a 10% boost which is ridiculous is still a gigantic amount of cashflow, revenue and profit... So it will matter even for 5% which both (10% and 5%) will be beaten easily... Remember 90% of this Gen gamers haven't bought their console yet...

Not much. Its already released in the markets where Xbox was strong. The markets Xbox 1 has yet to launch in are either small countries or not markets where the Xbox brand is popular.

China is just a last grasp straw. Any Chinese buying a kinect system that has to pass through Chinese notorious spying networks is asking for trouble. Ask Apple or Google how seriously tough it is there and the compromises that have to be made.

The "China hate Japan" argument is also silly as China has replaced the USA as the number one importer of Japanese goods.

OT: If MS believed it was the right thing to do and released in these countries they would have done it. They have obviously investigated the sales versus contracts, TV, marketing etc., and concluded it wasn't worth it. MS is a business and this is a business decision, not a fanboy pleasing one.

An American analyst stated that many these countries release dates will very likely coincide with a price cut. That is why much later this year makes sense.

As soon as it stop being sold out everywhere it alread launched ;)

RIP ps3, xbox360.

welcome home ps4 and X1

well there have been rumors of more countries in april but you'd think by now there would be something of an official announcement if that were true. i think it will be later than april at this point. clearly MS wasn't ready to launch the xbone.

i don't think it will change xbone's sales by much. i voted for 10-20% but i have the lower region of that in mind. simply, it's soo late and ps4 is doing soo well. success leads to success. by the time xbox launches that whole "i'm going to buy what my friends bought" line of though will be kicking in,.. critical mass. xbone's bad press will be well known and consumer confidence low.
