Forums - Gaming - A quick take on MS's E3 and the Kinect as a peripheral

You too are ignoring the fact that he was merely using the terminology of the Polygon article.

"Microsoft needs to admit the Xbox One Kinect is a peripheral, not a pack-in "
http://www.polygon.com/2014/2/17/5419464/microsoft-xbox-one-remove-kinect-pack-in

So the journalist used the wrong word in their article. The OP should have used a different one. We've resolved that. Move past it.

I guess in this respect I was indeed ignorant, as I wasn't even even aware that this thread is just a kind of response to some article. I guess I didn't even read the OP properly - usually, nobody even realizes...

But I think your last paragraph sums this thread up very well.

Why are you getting pissed at me? The OP didnt give a link to the article and makes no mention of the article in the OP. He then directs a post directly AT YOU and ME to say he did wright the OP. Whether it was in response to another article or not how the hell am i to know that especially after he corrects you and again makes no mention of the article.

And like i said if you think im derailing report me.

I'm not mad I'm just explaining. I just am surprised it's taking you so long to understand something that's pretty simple. I'm not mad at you. Stop begging me to report you. It's not a big deal buddy.

Then stop with "get on topic" posts. I'm on topic. And you and OP are not the same person. He still hasnt acknowledged the article in any way. And its funny you keep quoting me and arguing with me about this yet you dont say anything to the OP who failed to mention its an article...for christ sake he even corrects you Go bug him not me.

You read the OP properly...sevengen made no reference what so ever to the article. Theres no way any of us could tell unless you frequent Polygon.

I didn't intend for this to turn into a clusterf#@ of logic and semantics, although I should have know better trying to post anything with a modicum of deference towards the Xbox One on this site.

I did write the OP after reading the article Vitro points out.

And I can certainly understand the opinion that the Kinect is a peripheral.

I just simply don't agree. I think it devalues what Microsoft is trying to do and furthermore, I appreciate their attempt at doing things a little differently.
I don't mind the xtra $100 because I see the benefits there.
Others don't... no worries either way.

What is this ridiculous pile of words I am reading? Talking nice about Xbone isn't taken too kindly around here, sir.. it's just nauseating.

@bolded, that really isnt whats happening here.

I think giving us some context as to what you were responding to would have been good enough. A link to the article etc. Although that wouldnt have changed certain peoples posts.

Its funny because i actually agree that Kinect should be bundled with X1. Yet you think im here to argue with you just because you are aparently pro Kinect

Look its simple really.

What are Microsoft's Priorities with the Xbox One?

We can only surmize that with their decisions.

Thus, Until they reduce the price, they care more about there loss on sales rather than Kinect User Base.

And since this is a sale site, the common consesus will agree with the move that garners the most console sales.

KInect Userbase is more important than Xbox 1 sales to Microsoft, at least thats how it looks from here.

Console Loss > Kinect Sales > Kinect Userbase > Xbox One Userbase >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gears>>>>>>>>>>>Consumers>DRM

If they didn't care about the loss more than Kinect Userbase than they would make it 400$, but since its 500$ they care more about making money off of the kinect then the its user base

I think MS's priority is to make X1 appeal to a broad number of gamers. And the plan is to use Kinect to do this. So i guess they are thinking long term and not short term.

But like i said in a previous post MS needs to show the added value of Kinect. This needs to be done through Kinect specific games.
