Sadly, I'll train my Pokemon in White 2 or White, and when I get X/Y/Z?? I'll transfer with the PokeBank and start the real deal. But anyway...

So the time has come, I've decided to get into Pokemon for real. I have a lot of free time (or maybe I'm lazy) and I decided I'm gonna start the breeding, the EV training, the perfect IV's, and become a Pokemon Master. But I can't do it alone, I hope some of you guys introduce me to this crazy stuff, specially the IV's... That scares me a little bit. And if you ever wanted to become a teacher, well, here's your chance!

Don't waste your time IV breeding in gen 5. The Friend Safari and Destiny Knot in XY make IV breeding much much much much easier.

You need XY, mechanics make it so its much easier!

Ex: XY to make a great pokemon (competitive) can take hours to do (breeding) then train them another 2-3 hours.

In previous gen can take anywhere between a couple of days to weeks O.o

Well... I don't wanna ask for money to my parents now (political problems over here), I'm kind of embarrased, and if I get the money, there are other games I'm more excited to get (3D World, ALBW, WWHD, X, MK8, etc). I'm pretty much waaaaay too worried about money for some reason, like, I could have over $1000 if I already asked, but I don't wanna be a spoiled kid...

Well... Naah, there's no pressure. I've been reading and learning about all this stuff since the end of 2013. 

Well, if you can convince me to get XY before all of those games I listed, feel free to do it.

Alright, I'll give it a shot.  MK8 and X aren't even out yet and WWHD is just a remake.  As for the other two, I can't comment.  At that point it's a matter of your interests.  Mario v. Zelda v. Pokemon.  I assume Pokemon is towards the top because you are considering going competitive.

What about the game outside of Wifi battling? Was it better than 5th gen or 3rd gen? Would you compare it to 4th gen or 1st gen?
