Forums - Gaming - HDMI cable in the PS4 package

The cable they provide is fine. If theres a display it works :) and paying more wont improve the image quality. Although, I have bought some cheap hdmi in the past that did not work well for ps3, when using these I had a bunch of random red dot appearing on the screen, pixel size poping everywhere randomly.

RIP ps3, xbox360.

welcome home ps4 and X1

it wrks for me.

The cable is fine, no issues. I move my consoles around a lot between projector and living room. Disconnecting and connecting the cables all the time, rotating the consoles with the cable in so the kids can't get to the disc slot. I never had a problem with ps3 in 7 years, no problem with ps4 so far either.
(I wish there was an eject lock, my 2 year old always tries to get the disc out...)

I've only had a problem with a monster hdmi cable in my amplifier, the cable is so thick and heavy that it is tugging too much on the hdmi port and loses connection. I had to prop the cable against the wall keep it in place. Since then I've only bought cheap flexible cables with no problems.

Wow didn't know about broken ports! How much connecting and disconnecting was needed for that!?

I always use 10€ cables, I suppose they will work fine with the PS4 (no 4K).

Not that much times, I already had a PS3 and the monitor it was connected having problems, a lot of people I know lost 1 of the inputs on their TVs and so on. I'm not a big fan of HDMI, it is pretty fragile. Good old times with sturdy VGA connectors that were simple and durable. After all that, I avoid unnecessary connections and disconnections if possible.

About these cables and 4K, is more a matter of the specs. HDMI 1.4 supports 4K, so it's the minimum. Of course, for these more demanding uses, a good cable would be better, not just to avoid problems, but to protect more expensive devices (PS4, 4K TVs).

Yeah, I have two, but I honestly think the Rocketfish that connects to my PC is exactly the same as my two SUPER OMEGA 10,000 Monster cables (or whatever they're called) in terms of build quality. I think the extra cost comes from how cool they look.

And what is more fair than paying for coolness? They are awesome! I like them because they really last for a long time and the cable itself has a good plastic material and looks confiable.

The first shipment in Nov had a faulty HDMI port. The initial failure rate was around 4% then I believe improved to 1-2%. Your "people" are likely just reading day 1 shipment reviews from amazon.com.

Gold plated HDMI cables are better than silver arent they?

People saying the HDMI cable in the package of the PS4 is bad. Is that true? Will a better HDMi improve the picture quality?

It's not bad but in the beginning they were faulty...

A more expensive HDMI cable will never increase picture quality ;)

Define picture quality ? Cause they only cable i have doesn't support 1080p, only 1080i. To me that definitely give a worse picture quality.

get a Monsta hdmi cable, bit expensive but best pictja quality, less noisy than a cheapass hdmi cable.

A more expensive HDMI cable won't increase picture quality but will increase the number of soul particles that are transferred from the PS4 into your TV and then into your eyes and ears.

You gotta market somehow.

They're fine.
