One that a hater would believe, but a fanboy would damage control. Like when there were rumors that the Wii U version of Watch Dogs was cancelled.
A good rumor is always a juicy one. Doesn't matter where it comes from. But it shouldn't be too obvious of a fake.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
When enough people for their own reasons desperately want to believe it's true.
The best rumors come from an un-named source, that types in a way similar to that as the leaker, including common spelling mistakes. They should also include wild claims and that aren't feasibly possible, and include strange diagrams and pictures.
oh and they should only be posted on old blog type websites that people are surprised still exist, and have all the comments be keenly moderated.

COD is 720p on XBONE but 1080p on Wii U. Great rumor
Gears is a PS4 exclusive. Great rumor.
The next PS4 update brings additional stability. Stupid rumor.
