No cause they expect ND to have magical pixies announcing Zelda U, Smash Bros, FFXV exclusive and have them come out within a week cause they don't understand what reality is...

Great question. I think they should go back to more traditional methods. Its not like the Directs are that big anyway and they dont reach the same amount of people as say a IGN reveal might. Really it seems that most of the people who watch directs are Ninty and gaming fans anyway. They dont need to be sold on anything. They are just reiterating what most know.

Edit: worse still some of these Ninty fans really overhype the Directs and set themselves up to be let down.

All I really wanted from yesterday's Direct was some more on X and I got that, so I'm satisfied. No matter what big event goes on, there are people with unrealistic expectations. It's not just for Nintendo. The only reason Nintendo comes up a lot with regards to "disappointment" is because of a combination of them needing to "prove themselves" due to their financial woes and the fact that they hold a Nintendo Direct so often, whereas Sony and Microsoft don't have something like Direct.

This Direct was set to show us upcoming games in the Spring. What'd you get? You got upcoming games in the Spring, along with SSB and Bayonetta which are both not coming in Spring. Quit your grumbling, they delivered on what they said they would and more, be it "new enough" or not.

All of this hype is caused by people themselves. They go crazy over these things and set unrealistic expectations. Nintendo can't help that, you can help yourself, though.

I would also like to point out that Nintendo can't reveal everything as they still need to have something for E3. They still attend E3, so they still need something to show off. I don't want another bad E3 from Nintendo.

I just want something new. And, NintePie, I know they said "games releasing in spring" but I'd like a teaser of something we didn't know about. There's no need of a Direct if they'll only talk about stuff we already knew. AKA there was no need to talk about Yoshi, DKC, Kirby, Bayonetta, and the indie games we already knew about. They could release new trailers without the Direct.
I'm not saying they shouldn't do Directa at all, but if you only show a trailer, a release date or stuff we already knew, just do a fucking trailer and don't waste 10 fucking minutes talking some shit we already knew or didn't care about!

Nintendo has the absolute worst fans lol. A bunch of Nintendo apologists. Seriously, what's so unrealistic about expecting some release dates on games for the Wii U that have been announced for some time now? Nintendo is straight up garbage right now with their long droughts and lack of set release dates, and we people who have invested in the console expect to see content for it. It's very simple. When we're paying our hard earned money for these systems, we want results. These shitty directs aren't enough.

Nintendo has been trolling Wii U owners since launch- I have no expectations for the Nintendo directs and they have delivered every time- I have no expectations for e 3 either

IMO they have to discuss/show/announce a game and comit to a reasonable release window -
W out those 2 components then they have delivered nothng- like Jan 2013 direct that got everyone excited - all they did was talk about games they were working on that we could already imagine or had already known but no release windows a game mention w out a release window (as far as Nintendo goes) is nothing

People have expectations for every gaming event. It just depends on how much you expect i guess.

Though i will say i thought X looked great yesterday, but i havent been home to actually watch the ND. Im not realyl too interested in Bayonetta 2 but im getting DKC in a few days when its out. What else was shown?
