Titanfall isn't guarnateed to make back the money MS invested in it.  I wouldn't even call this a money hat, but rather an investment agreement.  Now, COD timed DLC you could consider a money hat, since that is a proven IP already.

Hindsight might seems to be 20/20, but there might not even BE a Titanfall right now if the studio didn't get the funding it needed.


The exclusivity agreement was actually between ea and microsoft, not respawn.

Correct, and Respawn signed a partnership with EA , which means they received funding from EA.

This is definitely going to strengthen their relationship with Sony. Sony now has an argument to get Titanfall to eventually come to their platform.

i wouldn't waste my money EA is in charge so who knows what corners the dev was told to cut.

I feel like Titanfall will be the XBOX equivalent of PS3's Haze. All hype and when it comes out nothing too exciting.

Also lets face it is Titanfall does become big exclusive then more peope will buy XBOX ones, then next round of EA games JUST MIGHT beat the PS4 ones.

Dude...Haze was all hype and no substance. Titanfall is hype and substance. It delivers and has not let anyone astray. Haze never took almost every award at E3 2013and the hype continued to grow even after people played it.

Hardware ratio should be more than 2:1 when Titanfall releases


If people could predict the future in economics, '28 crash would never have happened.

With more toughts in it, Titanfall (also on)PS4 would probably have done something like 75% of what Titanfall on Xbone will do now (as it seems a lot of people went/will go One for the game (wich makes no sense IMO)).

No, because Destiny will be bigger on all the platforms it has in common with Titanfall (possibly with the exception of Xb one depending on how strong the fanboi reaction is to the fact that TF is a MS console exclusive vs. Destiny deserving punishment for being on the hated Sony machines, Hopefully that attitude is a tiny monority and hence has a negligible effect), and so it would have been the case if Titanfall was on PS4.

But TF will be one of the biggest new IPs at least within the first couple of years. The unfortunate fact though, at least from gen 7, is that virtually no new IPs became huge, all the most successful IPs in gen 7 on PS360 were IPs that began in the 5th or 6th gen (Fifa, Cod, GTA, GT, Halo). There wer some fantastic new IPs last gen, but they never reached the very top in sales.
