Of course. Nintendo went out of their way to make this AMD Radeon card much more complicated for the devs, to make sure their games run badly compared to other consoles... ¬_¬

Of course they didn't do it for that reason, they probably did it for power efficiency. The whole system is designed with a fetishistic commitment to power efficiency.

If it was an off-the-shelf part it would have been positively identified within months of its launch. Instead, we're still speculating.

your the only one speculating its a 160 ALU GPU its been confirmed my many sources, even 2 dev confirmed it

(A) There's more than one AMD Radeon GPU.

(B) More importantly, we don't know what modifications may have been made to it.

I'd highly doubt that chip designers like AMD would want to just start out a completely new design because that takes alot of rescources. Even a giant like intel used an existing design base to start off their ambitious larrabee project. It would be inefficient to just start creating a completely new design each time when it could be better to just modify the last design. The Haswell CPU's have traits going back to as far the Core 2 duos.

Unless nintendo went about giving AMD 2 billion dollars I'm going to place my bets on the fact that nintendo likely used an existing architecture such as VLIW5.

Source? (And no, Neogaf is not a valid source)

That doesn't matter seeing as how it's GPU came from PC so shouldn't it be easier to utilize the GPU ?

You have no proof it's a PC GPU.

Do I need proof when I have evidence ? It's just some modified evergreen GPU with different shader configurations.

Because if you don't have proof, claiming as a fact that it's a specific GPU doesn't hold the weight that it would if we knew for sure.

really curl just stop it, even if wiiu is a step ahead of 360/ps3 whats the point, you still get better running and looking multiplatform games on 360/ps3, anybody with common sense would know the wiiu is in the sameball park as 360/ps3, you also have devs saying its in the same ballpark and multiplatform comparisons actually back it up.

There's no common sense in using multiplat comparisons between mature systems (and lead platforms) and one in its infancy as a measuring stick for the infant system's full power.

its because you don't understand how things work, if wiiu was a step up, it would run ps3/360 with ease, look the og xbox architecture was total different then the ps2 and it could run ps2 ports in higher resolution, better textures and frame rate with out any effort. the wiiu on the othere hand is choking on most ports with performance way behind, samething with graphic cards a AMD 320 alu gpu can run 360/ps3 games in 1080p

Xbox didn't come into the race after the PS2 had been out for 6 years and all engines had been intimately tailored to it.

you know who the sources are but you ignore them becuase they don't fit your agenda. you love for nintendo just blinds you from the facts.

pfft it didn't really matter you could do some research on the subject, you could throw almost any ps2 game code and you would get high reslotion, better textures and higher frame rate with out any effort, noe i;m not talking about just matching a port, i'm saying it would run the game with some very nice upgades, unlike wiiu where the games actually perfom worse with out any upgrades.

Wii U games like Trine 2 and Need for Speed show it can perform better than PS3/360 even with graphical upgrades.
