Anyone else kind of feel like the PS4's power gap isn't that big anymore?  I mean, sure it's more powerful, but after seeing these two, I don't find myself thinking "Oh, how much better this would have looked on PS4"... Am I the only one that thinks that people will stop thinking the Wii U is underpowered after these two games see daylight?

I was blown away by that battle they showed in X really just such a wide open looking world I really am looking forwards to getting my grubby mits on that game at some point. Did you see how it transitioned from on Foot to in those mechs seamlessly? Some people would call that the game of the generation.

Though my thread is focused on graphics, I have to say, I did notice those mechs were precariously "parked" there clearly for the sake of the video...

But, yes, it seems we're about to have a good JRPG/MMO combat style/mech TPS combat game coming exclusively to the Wii U... BOOYAH!!!

I might have missed it btw but I guess the 4 players were not all local play either? like there was 4 sets of health bars, was it too much to hope for that being 4 players online after hearing there will be 4 player online in MH4U on the 3ds? That will be amazing too, main friend who plays MH3 lives 200miles from me so not often we can play Adhoc hunting in that.

They didn't announce a whole lot which wasn't already known about in this direct... but the clarification they added to some titles really raised my interest in them, then of course ending it with a lovely blast of what the wii-u is capable of visually was the icing on the Nintendo cake for me.

They were smart to start with Smash Bros, and end with 'X' and Bayonetta 2, three of the biggest Wii U hitters coming in 2014...

About the online or AI controlled other players, we still have no clue... At all... Honestly, my bet is that it's NOT online, and that they are AI controlled.  I just don't see a big open world being feasible with 4 players.  What happens when player 1 goes one way, player 2 goes flying off in a mech, and player 3 and 4 engage an enemy?  Exactly... lol

I will be very unhappy if a Nintendo game or Nintendo in general ever resorts to subscription fees...

They may have to with the way the market is going, but... I really hope it doesn't come to that, lol

They'll eventually take note ...

Sony was smart enough to do subscription.

I will admit that I'm honestly surprised at how quietly and successfully that went...  PSN went from free to paid for online play, and that turned me off from the PS4, to be honest...

Gotta hand it to Sony, they sure know how to market, because if/when Nintendo does sub fees, IT WILL BE ON THE EFFIN FRONT PAGES OF EVERY GAMING WEBSITE KNOWN TO MAN, and it won't be headlined nicely, either.

Sony was super lucky with that. Having no DRM basically gave them a free pass.

Also PS+ was a great value even beforehand. I've been a very happy member for about two years. I don't like that online play is now behind a paywall, but it certainly hasn't affected me or the other users of my system.

All I know is, that went well, and Sony kept it under the radar very well...  When/if Nintendo does the same, it's going to be shit in the fan for months, I'll let my post be quoted and put a bet on this one, lol

Here we go again

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

You can clearly see that paid online subscription are not the issue as evidenced by the amount of subscribed xbox live users ...

Marketing isn't the issue with nintendo, did it ever occur to you that it was their games were the issue ? Iwata and Miyamoto stuggle with the term quality as does everyone else on the stigmatized gaming forums ... If they had a high quality enough games like mario kart WII then I'm sure could seriously be able to put a paywall behind the online racing.

@Bold I highly doubt that ... The amount of hypocrisy will pile up like big shit and even the viewers will notice it blatantly.

You speak as of hypocrisy has stopped anyone from creating way more negativity towards Nintendo/the Wii U than is deserved, lol
