Forums - Sony - inFamous: Second Son is likeable, but not yet loveable

Thats how i feel about all Naughty Dog games, except for Uncharted 3, wich was their only game i really loved.

Most of the hyped games these days come out like that for me. Good, but not great.

My point beeing... its not suprising. Its actually a very common occurance on games released early on a new console's life.

My biggest problem with infamous was the platforming. If they have that fixed up then I'll have very little to dislike about second son.

Which one? The first or the second?

The first has issues, it's as if Cole is magnetised... sometimes it poses a problem.

On the other hand, the second feels quite natural.

Climbing wasnt great in 1/2, so I think they have solved that, certainly with the power of going through the pipes or running up the building.

Also will not feature mutli-player.

It's a sandbox superhero game. Who expected it to?

GTA 5 has it.

Did GTA 3, Vice City or San Andreas? No.

This is a new version of the two game old series on a new platform. I think no coop or multiplayer is just fine and in fact is a plus as it means there won't need to be compromises made between the two modes.

Also, I am sorry but I don't lend all that much credibility to a review for an exclusive ip from someone who has a a signature like yours. Screams of someone trying to seem objective while downplaying how good the game is.

I have not played it yet myself as it still has a month before it is released but as someone who has played both inFamous games even if the game was just more of the same with prettier graphics it will be an awesome game.

Saints Row 4 says hello

I didn't even know SR4 had superpowers but ok. I guess that works. Still, Infamous has always been a single player franchise, I see no reason for them to shove multiplayer in unless they find a way to make if fun and not hurt the single player. Suckerpunch thought the game would be better without multiplayer and I trust their judgement.

Its called coop. I don't know how recent this news is, but this is the first i have heard, and after GTA 5 (plus knowing both Saints Row and Crackdown did it), it is disapointing to see a new console not able to enable such a feature

I am pretty damn sure it has nothing to do with the console and more with sucker punch not wanting to implement it. Is it hard to believe some games don't need MP? or co-op? That they are made simply to tell a story you control and sometimes, influence in meaningful ways?

"Trick shot? The trick is NOT to get shot." - Lucian

Have absolutely zero desire to see a multiplayer or co-op mode in Infamous SS, too many games force it, too many games have a shell of a SP campaign to spend all their time on MP, and quite frankly, developers focused solely on SP only, or MP only, will make a better overall product.

Had Rockstar not spent so much time on the MP, who knows how big and detialed GTAV's SP could've been. I know, many people don't like lengthy story lines (be gone you scum!), but I do. And if you need MP/Co Op in every game you own, buy something else.

That having been said, I want the vision Sucker Punch had for this game, not what people want to force them into making.

Im all for a meaningful story. Just saying its going to be a lonely sandbox to play in all by yourself (after the game is completed)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Both. 2 was better but still didn't fix all my issues. It has similar problems to AC.

He gave some good insight and information on the game. I just differ a little I felt the story with Cole was AMAZING and brought a relationship with the character....especially with the comic book style cut scenes. The game play in part one could have been more fluent but I still loved it. Part 2 in my opinion did everything better except for the story other than that they fixed most of the issues that part 1 had.

Looking forward to see the finished product of Infamous SS and hoping they take some of the points made in this article and use them to put some finishing touches and tweaks on my personal most anticipated game of 2014!

Lonely sandbox? Have you never gamed before 2014 or something like that? Most people still enjoy SP games over MP ones. There aren't even 5 AAA games that are MP only!

Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about, it was pretty frustrating in 1, they cleaned it up allot in 2, but it was still there to a much lesser degree.  Hopefully, we continue to see them clean it up in the 3rd.
