Forums - Gaming Discussion - How long did you wait outside for you console?

Ehh, does the Garden Center part of Walmart count as outside? If so, 14 hours.

0 hours & 0 minutes: I have the best parents in the world. :)

I waited from 4pm on Wednesday afternoon till Friday morning in freezing cold weather! Although a friend had a heated tent with two LCD monitors and we were playing Gears of War most of the time...So i actually had a blast waiting for the PS3 on launch day (week).

@TWroO What console/s.

Oh sorry... yeah what I said above was for the Wii. My GC I pre-ordered it in WHSmiths before launch, and picked it up 2 days after launch. My N64 I bought for £75 in Sainsbury's in 1998/9. My megadrive I bought second hand from an advert in the paper, around 1995/6 I think.

Under an hour for both Wii and PS3 at launch.  Helps to know about places nobody goes to.

Waited for an hour early Sunday morning for my Wii in January 07.

I waited 10 hours outside a Target for 3 Xbox 360s. I only made $90 off of them but I waited with 3 of my friends and it was fun.

I didn't wait at all for my Wii because I work at a retail store so I was able to get it the day the 1st Costco bundle was released.

I waited probably 9 hours outside a target in freezing weather, my brother and I waited for one each. He ended up giving his ticket to get one to this mother and no he didn't make her pay. Thats for my Wii. Every other console I just walked in and got them like my Xbox's

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

I didn't wait at all for my Wii. I decided to head into town after lunch when the Wii launched to see if there was any set up to have a look at. When I got down there, there was still a few sitting in the cabinets (Big W). I decided to head around to the local games specialist store to see if they had one set up, which they did, so I spent a few minutes looking at it. After about 30 minutes of pondering if I'd actually buy one, I did.

I've never understood why people would wait around for hours to get a console (or almost any new items). I don't even see the point in preordering. It isn't like you aren't going to survive if you don't have it immediately.

I dont wait for consoles. I walked into the store and ordred one of the many harvard grad's at walmart (LOL) to give me that last fucking wii in the display case.

I am WEEzY. You can suck my Nintendo loving BALLS!
