@withdreday easy not all gamers are pixels and fps whores that only care about whther teh consoes can do 1080p. Because there are more in gaming than teh above too. Thast because if teh game is mroe prettiest looking ame in the world but its boring as hell,,, then its pointless right lol. Atm games offering is on MS advantage which does attract otehr games who woudl purchase the alternative console. ALso they are gamers liek myself who will buy all three to get the nest of both worlds in terms of AAA exclusives. I don't knwo ,, ryse make the ps4 run for its money in tersm of grapics considering its 40 percent weaker lol. I picked up xbox one first because of teh game offerigns . they were alot more fun to play then kz or knack ( terrible game ) and the indies lol

You are right.  There is no 2 years.  They are gimping releases right now.  The multi plats already don't all achieve 1080p/60fps.  So, when next years versions come out, they will have to be gimped to reach 1080p/60fps.  How could you think otherwise?

You know what I can only give you 3 reasons.

Many reasons, actually.

1. All ps home consoles have been positive experiences for consumers. The insane support that the ps3 got over the years and especially last year at the expense of ps4 gives potential buyers a reason to trust Sony. The wii and psp left consumers disappointed, hence the consoles' low sales.

2. Does not have strong competition. Ms fucked up and Ninty stood no chance with the dudebros/ cool teenagers-young adults. Whatever people say here, the general public does see Ninty as a company for kids. It's simply not cool to own a wiiu console. Wii was successful entirely because of the motion controllers and their appeal is at the moment gone.

3. Everyone loves an underdog. The worse Sony was/is doing as a company the more fanatic it makes its fans. They worship the company to no end, because they see it as the good guys fighting a greedy big company (ms has a bad image-not my personal view). They bought it day 1 to support the company and to show their opposition to ms.

4. Good initial sales created hype. The ps4 has been everywhere. Facebook (people talking about it), 9gag etc. It has a good image and it's considered a hot item at the moment. People buy it because they are influenced by others, not because they really want or need it. Shortages have only increased the hype. There are so may reports/forum threads about shortages that it makes feel like they achieved something buy buying one (as if they won a decent amount of money from a lottery ticket).

I love it just got my ps4 although the loading of casheys is annoying once its done the loading is quite faster than ps3 overall. There are so many more features than ps3 its pretty incredible! The graphics are stunning with sony pretty much trying to do 60 fps and 1080 native on almost all its games. The bottlenecking xbox one is doing is a sign of things to come. If there bottlenecking there games now theres a reason not to pay 500! I just played battlefield 4 and was blown away by ( someone lol) the graphics and just the overall detail from the ps3 version to ps4 is quite a leap!

EVERY console launch has had one or two decent 1st party games, some multiplats, and some shovelware
Early adoption is pointless on any platform, PS4, XBONE, WIIU, Dreamcast, 3DS, PS2, Gamecube. You'll pay the most money for the system (in comparison to later price drops), have the least amount of games, and have to deal with the begining system bugs and glitches that will be sorted out later in the systems life

Pricey ~ Not as pricey as other launch models of consoles
Slimmer ~ For what its worth its pretty damn small enough for me

Sony simply has a better reputation than the other two companies, from developers and gamers alike.
