Scores are way too generous but at least they know what constitutes a bad game.

am cod got so high scores something is really wrong with famitsu !!!!

COD is more popular than most JRPGs. FPS and GTA have really grown in popularity in Japan.

Yeah... but it is Famitsu... their credibility is the credibility of dirt...

It's a decent selection, but pretty much nothing is a must-have thanks to cross-generation presense or lack of appeal to the JP market.

I think it is only here in the western that Famitsu seems to lack credibitity.

Their focus in Japan tastes and for that they really do a great job... these scores are maily focused to Japaneses... so that's why they differ a lot from the westerns reviews.

At extremely high scores for extremely flawed games consistently, their scores are not really molded to anyone I think. FF XIII for example. Nobody will argue that it's extremely flawed, even if it's a fan of the game, and yet, it got like 38/40 or 39/40 in Famitsu.

They are said to rate for hype, or at least that's something I remember hearing time and time again.

FF 13 wasn't perfect but I don't think it's a good example. I mean look at these scores http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/final-fantasy-xiii/critic-reviews

Did these magazines/reviewers lose credibility?

Also, some of the lower scores were written much later than the higher ones and were thus given after gamers rejected the game and said it was terrible. It seemed that reviewers wanted to please gamers or were affected by the hype/backlash.

I'm hoping against hope that Koei will use this opportunity when the PS4 has no gaemz to localize a Nobunaga's Ambition for the first time in forever.

Absolutely what I was thinking.  A new Nobunaga's Ambition would make me very happy.  Sony, go push Koei.

Those scores are ridiculous. The average for that magazine must be around 8/10.

Yea, but to be fair, a lot of Western reviewers also gave FFXIII high scores.

IGN - 8.9

Game Informer - 9.25

GameSpot - 8.5

CVG - 9.2

1UP - A-

Let's hope they can transform these scores into sales.

I think A 7 is very fair. It's small, bite sized fun, but well designed. But it does grow old fairly quickly.... And I don't get destroyed on master either.
