Seems about right. It's early year baseline is about double and their are some genuine system sellers this year. I think it will be closer to three times as many.

I think you're being a bit liberal with the baseline being "about double" what it was last year.  According to Year on Year data the WiiU is doing about the same or worse than it did last year for January and the last week we have was a jump from 33,000 to 42,000 which is a far cry off from double.  What are you basing this claim off of?

It's not double, but it is up measurably, at +15% for January.

Yeah the year on year charts for WiiU seem to have not been updated on VGC for a few weeks as Jan2014 is way behind Jan2013 so far which is what I was basing that off of but I found EyeofCore's thread and it's about 15% increase.  Going to have to start doing far better to get up to double or even triple as some are suggesting.

It obviously needs to do 85% better :)  I feel confident it will.  We are seeing solid growth due to the improved software library, lower price, and weaker competition from PS360 and Wii.  I'm expecting a continued sharp decline for the older systems as we go forward, key early releases that were completely absent from last year's calender, and some late year action to move units from Nintendo (at least one unknown game, a possible redeisgn/price cut and a marketing push).  But mostly it's the lower price, the already released SM3DW and pending releases of DK and MK8 that should prevent the complete stagnation of sales in winter through summer that we saw last year, making a doubling of sales rate fairly easy.
