Forums - Nintendo - AE Games speaks out on the WiiU and other 3rd Parties

I'd agree with them about the $60 issue, these developers shouldn't be sending out older games for $60, that's just foolish. However, I disagree with their reference to Ubisoft, Ubisoft has done just about everything possible to support the Wii U and even the best selling Wii U ports of their games sell far less than other platforms. I can't really blame 3rd party publishers for not wanting to put their games on the Wii U after seeing the sales for games like Assassin's Creed on the platform, it's obvious that only casual titles are going to sell well on the Wii U. The problem is only going to worsen for Nintendo over the next few years, soon enough most games will be next-gen instead of cross-gen, developers won't want the Wii U holding back the other platforms graphically.

And wasn't the Wii U version of Bl Ops 2 the best console version? It's just the entirely wrong genre for the Nintendo fanbase.

And heck, even when Nintendo itself publishes a new IP the Nintendo fans reject it (Wonderful 101). That's utterly shameful, how can any Nintendo fan complaining about lack of 3rd party support? How is any 3rd party supposed to feel encouraged to try new things with Wii U when Nintendo can't even get people to buy into new IP?

This is the kind of talk that gets me (as a Wii U owner) to want to buy their game regardless of what it is just to show them support and stick it to delaysoft and E(everyone but Wii U)A and all the other companies out there who make terrible delayed ports.

Hopefully this means we get a direct this Friday!

Someone went to the Meghan McCain School of Punctuation...

But really, this reads like a joke. EA, AE... North Carolina is more or less opposite Redwood City... I'm skeptical that this company even exists.

I'm with you on that. I think it's a massive trolling by someone who wants to talk smack about how 3rd parties have treated Wii U.

I said in the thread I made, I think this is fake.

Yes, third parties did a horrible job in trying to sell their games on Wii U, but they blame Nintendo alone for bad sales...

Which games were realeased at the same time, at the same price and with all the contents? I can only think of Rayman Legends (but that's another story) and maybe Just Dance, Skylanders and LEGO games (but I don't know much about them).

They've become whiny pussies in recent years and their most creative moments are when they make up cheap excuses.

Wait, AE games? Do they really exist?

what about Deus Ex Human Revolution DC?

Yeah, could be. I don't remember how much that cost... $29.99 vs. $39.99 or something?

Maybe, but it seems more like they're trolling Wii U fans by promising games that aren't ever going to materialize.

30$ VS 50$ IIRC

Guys, this is obviously a joke.  AE Games?  Seriously, they are barely trying.

Stop it. Get out of my head. You're all reading my mind. I'll wait until Friday, but come on. Has anyone seen their website? It looks like shit! They made their twitter 6 hours ago? Very very fake. AE Games? Come on now, troll. I'd love to be wrong, but the writing is on the wall.

They'll be the High Voltage Software of this generation, trying to capitalize on the lack of devs devoting resources to the Wii U.

Their intentions are good and, they are kind of clever, playing the good guy who sides the victim of the entire bullying of the school. However, this is no different than an indie dev making a game on the Wii U, so it won't be the next big thing every Wii U owner dreams of and no, it won't matter or make a difference.

This is basically free good publicity for them, they might make a game that people would buy just because they feel will be supporting a good cause. Meanwhile the "bullies" keep pumping AAA games that no WiiU-only owner will get to play.

the parallel to high voltage was pretty immediate to me too.

...hadn't heard of them for a while so i just looked them up.  looks like the ported the conduit to smartphones and created two more games for smartphones.  a bit of contractor work on other peoples titles but nothing on a nintendo console since the conduit 2.  looks like the realities of having to pay the bills set in and in the end they realized that even they, small as they are, can't justify working on a nintendo console.
