I love how this thread is simply news for the Xbox guys on the site and immediately turns into this. We're excited for ID@XBOX, ready to see the same support the 360 had. Thats it.

Don't act surprised ;) ID@XBOX is really great for creative people - derailing is of course expected and intended.

I am looking forward to it. This combined with Project Spark to start with makes the console a very nice product for creative people.

Yeah lol and of course! The beta is out around the 2nd half of February.

Indies now the greatest thing since sliced bread again?

Huh? Lol indies have always been awesome,  just wouldnt advise hyping them as some "big reveal" at a games conference.

Why? The biggest game on the planet is an indie game in minecraft. It si also a great way to foster indie support, it's not like there is not AAA games also being pushed..... Didn't exactly hurt Ps4 sales.

Think about the reaction at Gamescom when Minecraft was announced for PS4. Silence filled the room from the "biggest game on the planet".

It sold 1 million in 1 month, that's more important then it's applause.

Don't start something you cannot finish.

Looking at that, I didn't start it. But anyway, back to talking about ID@XBOX.

No but the ability to easily make your own game with buying just a console.

Sounds like Vita :)

BTW you also have to buy just a PC to go with it :)

It is good news tho, it will probably sway me to pick up a XOne eventually as i do like a bit of home brew development.

That's not happening anytime soon.

ID@XBOX gives two free dev kits to anyone who becomes registered in the program. This has nothing to do with using retail XBONEs as dev kits.

It's a pretty good program. Now that they also give registered devs access to Unity it's very comparable to what Nintendo has been doing.

Anecdotal means squat. I'd rather see indies then a useless trailer for a game not coming until 2015, and a black tusk game that no longer exists. Again it didn't hurt PS4 at all, makes total sense actually. Better to showcase indies, garner support while showing concrete AAA games, instead of things they may come and are 2 years away.

you're kindding right ????

if there is a company championning that sport it's Sony especially at E3.... I don't know how long you've followed the console VG scene but among every constructors and every developper they are unmatched in the sport of showcase crap that is years before release with prerendered trailers not in engine..... the only one I can think of competing is Valve with HL2...

while MS has almost always talked about what is comming in the next 12 to 18 months and that's it, whit very few exceptions.... so before pointing out the few exceptions on one side, start by aknowledging the shortcomings of yours.... Sony BS marketing machine over the past 20 years plus is one of the reason I can't stand that company..... even MS's in their worst hours of the vista era never matched Sony's....

Sony has not done anything of the kind since Killzone 2 years ago (Different management). Nothing sony did was ever as a colossal failure as the DRM debacle of x1. MS is still doing this see Forza 5 massive downgrades from their trailers. You must hate Ms then because they are as guilty, it not more so now. Halo 5 and black tusks projects perfect examples as is forza 5's mis-leading trailers.
