Forums - Sony - ND's Bruce Straley Thinks Tearaway & Papers Please Should Have Won Award For Innovation Over TLOU

Classy.

And he's right.

I give respect to ND for giving props where props should be given.

"Excuse me sir, I see you have a weapon. Why don't you put it down and let's settle this like gentlemen"  ~ max

He is obviously wrong. Stanley Parable should've gotten the award. The fact that he doesn't even mention it shows that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Agreed. TLOU was no doubt one of the best games released last gen, but it really wasn't particularly innovative :p My vote would go to Tearaway.

I completely agree. Tearway was such a unique and amazing experience from start to finish. It deserved the goty award imo.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

Tearaway should have won.

Last of Us won an award for innovation? I know I crap on some aspects of the SP a lot so this might seem biased or jaded, but exactly what did the game do that was innovative?

Even the MP, which was simply amazing, probably the best I played in the last couple years, did nothing innovative. Just really well designed.

Agreed but with Paper's Please over Tearaway... It is oddly rewarding how such a simple game can have deep impacts without needing stellar graphics and gimmicks... You don't even see your family or even talk to them yet you make decisions that care for them and the choices you make have a lot of impacts as well as the people you decide to help. Really good game imo

I agree. They should have said that when they accepted the award though.
