For the past month or so... I've sunk about 50 hours into Skyrim.
I bought it when it came out, but I didn't play it much. I started a new campaign and finished most of quest lines. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

You've already mentioned you'll try it out, but I never played an Elder Scrolls game until Skyrim.
364 hours later and I have no idea where the time went. I also know that gaming soundtracks can make or break a game for you, and I have to say that Jeremy Soule's work on this game ranks among one of my favorite OST's ever. It's wonderful (although you and I have differing tastes so who knows
)

Had no idea there was a PC version. I've never played an MMO. I'm from Europe; would that stop me playing with anyone on VGC? |
FFXIV:ARR is for PC, PS3, and soon PS4. It is cross-platform play, meaning everyone plays on the same server regardless of platform. There are North American/European Servers, European Servers, and Japanese Servers.
I believe everyone here on vgc is on the NA/E servers. Which one, I am not sure. (Need to ask them)

Skyrim on PC w/ MODS will get you over 200 hours at a min. If you get hooked on modding yourself than even more.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Yes Civilization is a great one too especially since almost the whole franchise is on humble bundle currently.
