Forums - Gaming - Schoolboy, 13, rapes his eight-year-old sister after watching porn on the X-box

The device used is immaterial IMHO. Outside of the obvious that the boy is deranged the issue with the article that is germane to this forum is that the story is highlighting the fact that he used the XB1 to view the porn. This kind of reporting tends to shift the blame to the device (its much like the anti-gun crowd's reaction to mass shootings etc.) instead of the perpetrator or in this case the parents of the boy.

Why does he have access to pornography in the first place? How long were the children alone that this could happen without a parent nearby to stop it? We will see so many reactions about how videogames are bad for our children etc. etc. when in reality it's the fault of the people surrounding the issue.

I purposefully have only one television in the living room so I can monitor what my children watch on TV. I have parental controls set on all my internet enabled devices. I check on my kids' situations regularly to ensure they are okay even when they are "safe" in my home. Why couldn't these parents provide that for their daughter AND their son. Both of these children's lives are ruined.

Parents can't be perfect so I don't want to damn them completely but we have to be careful to divert blame where it belongs which is the child and his parent(s) not the XB1.

The Xbox One is so hardcore it will make teenagers commit incest ( and probably other things as well)

I see what you did there.

The author just wants xbox to look bad. In reality he could have used a pc or phone to watch porn. This kid is messed up in the head.

Ms Elvines told the Lancashire Telegraph 'For a long time, people have been sitting on the fence and saying we do not have the evidence to say porn is harmful, but now we are starting to have some evidence around young people’s exposure.

'How much evidence do you need? It shows that the government’s measures are extremely important and that we need to start acting.

You sure this is not from The Onion?

I don't think the Onion would come up with something like this.

Maybe not come up with it but surely write it that way.

The Story is just ridiculous and the implications people draw from it are just crazy. Gotta love the motherfucking media.

If that was my son i would have slapped him silly and carted him off. I would have done my best to press charges and would have refused to let my family take care of him. A 13 year old is not a child.

Poor girl.

Gotta love'em.

So stupid... I'm sure the freakin' media will spin this against video games instead of the obvious lack of parenting and restrictions for this child.
You can access porn on any device these days; mobile, computers. laptops, consoles, tablets. It makes no different that he viewed it on an Xbox.

So stupid. Omg.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

Wtf? This obviously comes down to this little shit's parents. Everything allows you to block certain things so kids don't use it. They were probably too ignorant to even know that you could use the internet on consoles.

Even so, this kid is seriously fucked in the head.

The best part is saying that all equipment that have Internet will be blocked for porn, yeah sure.
