Weird, I was never really fond of resolution between 1080 and 720. But I surely do prefer 60 fps to 30 fps.

Yay!!!

Seriously, threads dedicated to 1080p and 60fps are getting really ridiculous. Nobody cares.

I wonder what happened to that power? 50% more? i dont see it

30fps....and 50% more power.

At least i hope the gameplay is at least good.

Big difference between 720p and 1080p. Do you have a 1080p HDTV? And I'm not talking about a small size one.

The differences are very minor.

I've compared them both on 2 tv's.

Both tv's are 1080p. Only hardcore fans see what they want to see.

The differences are very minor even after being "50% stronger" as most claim.

Of course exclusives always look better and both will have them. I just find it funny how "the other side" seems to believe the ps4 is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times stronger than the xbox one. Thats how they portray it but it isn't reality.

The difference will become more noticeable as time goes on. We're already seeing games like Tomb Raider where the framerate is considerably lower and that was basically a last gen title with a fresh coat of paint. I wouldn't harp too much on the "50% power claim" when all of us are still waiting "for the truth to come out" and where exactly the "infinite power of the cloud" is.

Not surprised by 30fps, but 1080p? Does this mean they're ditching the letterboxes?

Even if a GTX Titan Black edition was in the PS4. The developer would rather chose graphics at 4K (lol) over 60 fps. This is not a multiplayer focused/racing/fighting game.

I expect games on ps4 to be 1080p @ 60fps because of the "powah"

If not then it clearly isn't that powerful over the competition as most seem to claim.

They could reach 1080p/60fps if they wanted, but they chose to give that extra power to make the visuals better. It's no different than why Crytek chose to release Ryse in 900p/30fps. They wanted to use that extra power to bring a bit more polish to the game. Gorilla did the same thing, but they instead opted to favor 1080p/30-60fps, which makes sense for an first person shooter. Even a computer with PS2 specs could probably pull off 1080p/60fps if the game was basic enough. Does that mean the PS2 is stronger than a PS4?

As i said to someone else, even if the PS4 was another 50% more powerful they would still likely still lock it at 30fps and take all that extra power to make it look even better. Why waist resources on 60fps for a type of game that doesn't benefit much from it?

You'd think people would understand the logic of basic resource management after all this time... It's not a particularly complex skill to posses.

Why would the diference increase over time, rather than decreasing or just staying the same?

Also, I doubt we'll be seeing the infinite power of the cloud until the end of this gen. If it does exist at well.

Im cool with this.

The next generation everyone, where devs prefer to have 1080p @ 30fps instead of 720p @ 60fps!

Resolution always first... no game can run below 1080p this generation.

Nope, I prefer 60 fps.

It makes a game more immersive in my opinion and actually makes games feel different.

I played BF4 on PS3 and X1. The superior graphics of the X1 wasn't as jarring as the smooth frame rate.

I don't care if it's 30fps or 60 fps.

As long as the frame rate is rock solid (no slow down or fluctuation) I'm fine with it.

PS4 is packing better hardware under the hood. That much is reality.

It is but not as much as some users in here are claiming.
