Forums - Gaming - U.S.A dont like PS Vita and JAPAN don like Xbox 360!! Whats the reason??

Zelda - Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch.... Incredable!!!

If the Japanese would publish some of their games then maybe the US would like the Vita.

Public transportation is for the most part either really crappy or Non existant in the USA (At least here in Texas we'll say) This commute time where I am not driving means that I actually have a good use case for portable games but that doesn't apply to the US market at large. Most people in the US whom don't drive are younger. Another Audience Vita doesn't skew towards.

I don't think it's fair to say Americans hate Vita but it is a device that doesn't seem built for the use case of this particular region.

The Vita doesn't have as many games that appeal to North American gamers and the Xbox doesn't have as many games that appeal to Japanese gamers. That's really the crux of the matter.

No one who showers daily would dare be seen in public with a Vita in America.

The 360 ain't got no games in Japan.

Oh and JP dont like 360 because their are zero reasons to own it over their native PS3 unless one of those niche games like Halo or Gears etc appeal to you.

Kinda strange with the Vita situation, because I consistently see people with 3DS's, including children and adults. Perhaps the Vita just doesn't hold interest in North America, I'm pretty sure it's not a name or brand issue. It needs games that American's show more interest in. It's doing OK in Japan because it has games that Japaneez people like, I don't think American's care about most of its library. Unfortunately, the people who claim that "Vita has amazing games" who are also in the USA, happen to be the minority.

Microsoft just can't cater too much to the Japanese audience. Maybe Titanfall will help with Xbox One, Japanese people love giant robots. ;)

At the time when the 360 came out, it had a slew of JRPGs Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean, Magna Carta 2, Infinite Undiscovery and more that the PS3 did not have. But still the Japanese audience did not buy into the 360. MS did try at first, but then gave up after seeing their efforts fail.

lmao. I rarely see anybody carrying a handheld around with the exception of a small child.

I've worked with this one guy for 3 years and didn't even know he was a gamer because all he plays are handhelds, he hears the rest of us talk about gaming all the time. It was like he was ashamed about it for whatever reason.
