Forums - Gaming - Disaster : Day of Crisis dated?

Wow people hating on NMH sales? Sure it didn't sell like DMC4 (who in there right mind thought it would?)

But Ubi reportedly sold HALF of their initial shipment uin the States for the first couple weeks of it's release, and it has yet to be released in some areas. I don't think that's bad at all, especially considering there was no ads for the game.

It seems like a game has to sell upwards of quarter of a million around here in a couple days to a week to be considered a "success" among these parts.

Coming in May? I don't buy it. The cone of silence is just too thick around this title.

Or maybe that's just me being hopeful, since there are already too many games I want to buy in the first half of this year. T_T

I'd get it, if the reviews were good,

That was one of the 1st Wii games I was excited for.

I doubt it. We know more about FF 13 and thats farther off.

Eternal Darkness was also published and advertised by Nintendo... So that doesn't make any sense!

Nintendo didn't purchase Silicon Knights midway through ED's development. Nintendo did buy Monoliftsoft midway through Disaster's development. That move speak volumes. The last outside developer Nintendo purchased was Retro Studios. It is not something Nintendo does often.

That's because Nintendo has never been as profitable as it is now... They can easily do it! The Gamecube era was a totally different story!

Only a fool would spend more money just because they have more.  Nintendo isn't going to lower its standards simply because it can afford to.  Plain and simple they purchased it because they felt they were quality devs and almost certainly because they were working on a quality project.

That isn't why, after the N64 era Nintendo stated that they were moving way from such partnerships. Besides, you forgot that Nintendo has always have billions of dollars in reserve and have always been profitable. I mean even when Sega offered themselves to Nintendo, Nintendo could have bought them paid off their 2 billion in debt and still have billions in reserve.

When did SEGA 'Offer' themselves to Nintendo?

Before they went third party, CSK, Sega's old parent company, tried to sell Sega to Nintnedo but Yamauchi declined. This around the same time MS tried to buy them and Sega declined.
