no person with a brain would pay that much for headphones only to use them while playing games

it's the same with speakers. it's not that hard to accomplish good surround sound with speakers  but when it comes to music or more so producing music sound quality is crucial

$100 is cheap for wireless headphones.

Probably when Sony have a sell on it, because it is cheaper then most headset I come across. Some may say, this is a steal.
