Forums - Microsoft - GDC is this a defining week for the 360 in 2008 ?live or let die

I would say E3 is the "defining week" for the 360.

Not the defining week for sure, but still a very important one.

Anyone else predict that, either at GDC or E3, they'll announce that 360 will start using HD-VMD's? That would counterract Blu-Ray's storage advantage, as multi-layer VMD's have more storage space.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

can VMD run on the Xbox 360's DVD drive though? surely not?

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

^^They use the same laser as a DVD drive, so, theoretically, it could go either way. All just conjecture, tho.

Last I heard, it was mid July.

@ WiiStation360

The PS3 only won NA in January due to 360 shortages that gamers reported long before MS did. A price cut in NA can wait a month or two as long as a nice bundle is announced this month.

I can't believe you actually bought that B$. I mean c'mon give me a break. The 360's been out for over two years and only sold ~150k more than last Christmas (and there were no "shortages" after last christmas). So tell me why a company can fill 4.6 million orders/Quarter one year after launch and yet they can't fill 4.8 million orders/quarter two years after launch? get the picture? they're just trying to save face. I loved how they even covered their backs for February as well: "these shortages may not be completely alleviated until late February or early March." right, so it takes Nintendo all of four weeks to restock the 14 month old Wii (after having been completely sold out worldwide for 13 1/2 months) and it takes M$ two months to restock the (wildly popular, right.) 26 month old Xbox 360. How dumb does M$ think we are?

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Microsoft will acquire Epic Games....

That would be huge...

Oh shiz.
I forgot all about that game that should rival MGS4 by Microsoft.
Can't wait to see how that's doing.
One thing is that it can't totally "mimic" MGS4 because then that's never a good thing. The game has to stand out on it's own and do everything MGS4 does AND THEN SOME!
Anyways the game sounds interesting, but we will have to wait.
