You're renting Titanfall no more than you are renting the MP portion of BF4, Killzone, CoD, etc. Not at all the same as PS+ where your games are picked for you and you have access so long as you pay. I can be a Gold member in 2017 and still not have access to Titanfall if the servers go offline.

If the game is popular enough and when the servers are eventually taken offline... (It's not a matter of if, but when, nothing lasts forever!)
Then PC gamers will more than likely to still be able to play it, history is littered with games that had their online modes disabled, so the games were modified and servers set-up. (Freelancer being a prime example and all those games you can run on top of Hamachi.)

So no, if in a hypothetical world where I decided to actually buy an EA game not on Steam, I wouldn't be renting it. :)

I'm well aware this exists on PC. Doesn't really pertain to the discussion though. And you aren't renting it regardless of what platform you buy it on. :)

SIngle player gamers are more in the standing of rental games these days than multiplayer games. They have longevity.

If it's not a rental on xbox (I agree it's not), then neither are ps+ games. What's the difference between the two?

Yeah I'm ok

It's right there in the post you quoted.

No, it's not. You said PS+ picks your games for you and you said you only have access as long as you pay. The first has nothing to do with renting or not. It's just as applicable as mentioning the price of both as a difference. True fact but irrelevant in this discussion. The second applies to both. You can play PS+ games as long as you pay, and you can play multiplayer only games as long as you pay. It's not a difference between the two. Did you say something else that I missed?

Why is Titanfall not being rented while PS+ games are?

PS+ picking your games for you and you only getting access if you pay is entirely relevant. Because, you know, one is a physical copy of a game you can go into the store and buy, and the other is a service that allows you access to games they choose if you pay them money for it. And no, the second doesn't apply to both. If I pay for XBLG in 3 years, I still can't play Titanfall if EA takes the servers offline.

Of course you can make the argument a hell of a lot simpler and just build on the second sentence of my reply. I can walk into a store on March 11th and buy a copy of Titanfall, and it's mine forever. I can play it, I can throw it in the trash. If I want, I can resell it. Yet it's a rental because it requires XBLG? The reach is cute, but dangerous. Please don't fall. Toodles.
