No, it's not. You said PS+ picks your games for you and you said you only have access as long as you pay. The first has nothing to do with renting or not. It's just as applicable as mentioning the price of both as a difference. True fact but irrelevant in this discussion. The second applies to both. You can play PS+ games as long as you pay, and you can play multiplayer only games as long as you pay. It's not a difference between the two. Did you say something else that I missed?
