J_Allard said: You're renting Titanfall no more than you are renting the MP portion of BF4, Killzone, CoD, etc. Not at all the same as PS+ where your games are picked for you and you have access so long as you pay. I can be a Gold member in 2017 and still not have access to Titanfall if the servers go offline. |
If the game is popular enough and when the servers are eventually taken offline... (It's not a matter of if, but when, nothing lasts forever!) Then PC gamers will more than likely to still be able to play it, history is littered with games that had their online modes disabled, so the games were modified and servers set-up. (Freelancer being a prime example and all those games you can run on top of Hamachi.)
So no, if in a hypothetical world where I decided to actually buy an EA game not on Steam, I wouldn't be renting it. :)

I'm well aware this exists on PC. Doesn't really pertain to the discussion though. And you aren't renting it regardless of what platform you buy it on. :)

If it's not a rental on xbox (I agree it's not), then neither are ps+ games. What's the difference between the two?
