Golden Sun 3DS probably makes more sense. Would cost less to make and have a far larger userbase to sell to and Nintendo needs 3DS games to sell in 2015/2016.

I haven't really played much of the Shining Force games either but I hear the Camelot/Takahashi Bros. developed Force games are Strategy RPGs that are somewhat akin to Nintendo's Fire Emblem series with some key differences.

now that DS virtual console has been announced on WiiU im pretty sure we will see GS Dark dawn on it

Shining force games made by camelot were amazing!  So shining force 1-3.  Among the best games of all time.  

As to what camelot is up to, they are making mario golf again I think.  After that, I would assume they will make a new golden sun for the 3ds or maybe mario tennis.  Depends on what nintendo wants I guess since that is who they primarily develop for now.  They have a REALLY small studio so it takes a long time for them to make anything...
