Its so odd that there are soo many anti-nintendo threads  on this site but wiiU games are the most wanted numerous amounts of time when Salnax does these threads... Its just so interesting that one of the most hated company on this site seems to have the most wanted games on this site, I guess Nintendo is doing something right at least

Between this and the Top 50 Games, I think Nintendo fans are a lot more keen on making lists than Sony or Nintendo fans.  Take that however you want :P

OT: New format is aces Sal, excellent work as always.

And lol at Atelier Escha & Logy sneaking in the bottom there.  If only that excitement reflected actual sales =/

Thank you for doing this. Very interesting! respect! :)

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

What's wrong with your Excel 2003?

You know how some software comes with a 20 or 25 digit code that you have to get right in order to install it?

Well, my computer had a near-death experience from Sunday through Tuesday. Long story short, I saved all of my documents and files, but had to reinstall almost every program. And sometime since mid-2010, the last time I needed it, I lost the 25 digit code for Excel 2003.

Since Wednesday, I've been using some free software made by a Chinese company called Kingsoft. Basically, they give a clone of Microsoft Office circa ten years ago as a hook to make you buy their main product that's still cheaper than Microsoft Office. Thing is, their demo is almost as good as the software I've become accustomed to for the past decade, meaning I have little incentive to actually spend money on Office software at the moment.

Ah, I was curious as to whether MS had tried to push you into Office 365 like they did to me, I think it's just anyone with Office 2010 but wasn't certain (I was using 2007 but because I had 2010 Starter version one of the Windows updates changed all the file associations so when I open a document it was asking me to start a subscription. I at least am savvy enough to remove the update but I suspect a number of people have ended up with Office 365 when they otherwise wouldn't have bothered)

Oooh, shiny colours. I like them . Well, all but the PS4 one. That orange ... I don't like it

The shiny colors have actually been a part of this feature since early 2012! They just never left my laptop. Excel 2003 didn't like carrying them over to Firefox. As for the orange, the system was already in place where Blue = Nintendo, Reddish colors = Sony, Green = Xbox, and PC = Yellow. Of the default color options left, orange was the best compromise between being distinct and being a flavor of red available.

And why not another "orange"

I also like the genre label, although that's something that will give you troubles with some games. X as a JRPG? If it's anything like Xenoblade, it will be more like a mid-point game between Japanese and Western RPG.

Genres are rarely easy to assign, though I wouldn't consider X to be a prime example of a difficult one. It's an open world RPG, but those were a staple of JRPG's back in the 80's (Final Fantasy 2 being my most loathed example.) And action elements are not exclusive to WRPG's either. Hydlide, Zelda 2, Mana, etc. were all fairly big names early on in Japanese RPG's. Sure, Final Fantasy X and XIII were corridor simulators, but that's more of a Square Enix thing than a JRPG thing.

I agree that X was a bad example, but ohter games will be hard unless you use 2 genres to define it. Like Uncharted being an Action/Adventure or Advanture/Action, because it's none of those genres alone (too many shooting to be only adventure and too much platforming to be only Action).

good work salnax,

nintendo always strong on the chartz, peole see whatever they want to see via their bias i guess regarding hate/negativity

good to see the PC people giving a pick and PC growing,i'd put more games on but i like to put games that are at least coming out in a few months and not a year or two

That's a bit close to yellow IMO, but I'll give it a try.

Well, given that you use yellow for PC and it only has 1 platform (at least for now, we you may have to add another one for Linux-PC when or if the Steam Machines have success), there shouldn't be a problem with that colour.

2014 The Year of JRPGs!?

Man the hype on this site for the Wii U version of Watch Dogs almost makes me wonder if it'll actually succeed. It can't be like this anywhere else on the internet can it? I'm sure hype will die down once Ubisoft announces how it decided to gimp the Wii U version, but I gotta say, the hype for it is truly impressive for a Wii U multiplat. I know I'll be getting it on Wii U.

I love how Atelier Escha & Logy got 17 points with only 4 votes!!!! so hyped for that game.
