Forums - Gaming - Is The Pacman IP Dead?

I heard that Pacman Museum was cancelled for Wii U/3DS...and honestly I couldn't care less.

Ghostly Adventures was irrelevant to me, in fact every Pacman game besides the arcade original and Ms. PacMan seem to be irrelevant. What do you think? Is Pacman dead?

Is this a joke thread?? =P
The XBLA/PSN game was awesome, thats about all they can release from now on that will be popular

Considering that his current television show is doing well, I'd say the IP is alive and well. In video game form, there's much to be desired, but the IP is bigger than just video games. With that said, I would like to see a good 3D Pac-Man game.

Championship DX was a spectacular game and it is fairly recent.

One of the best games of the generation, for sure. I really wish they would have continued with the Namco Generations stuff.

I don't think anyone honestly cares that much about Pacman anymore. I for one never understood the character's appeal (talking about the character here, not the games), he's just so... awkward looking. I really don't think he adds anything to the Pacman games (besides the name, lol), and they would be just as fine with another random character.

I'll always have a huge soft spot for Pac-Man and especially Ms. Pac-Man (one of my favorite coin-op games), so I hope it's around for many more years to come.

I also think Namco should stick to the series' arcade roots, whenever possible, because I think there's still a market for that kind of fast-paced, kinetic action. A Wii U game would be really cool because it could take advantage of the GamePad a la Pac-Man vs.

Honestly, I don't think Pac-Man has been particularly relevant since 1984 or so. Sure, there have been good games in the series since then, but for the past 30 or so years, the series has been living off of the success of the original and Ms. Pac-Man.

Gone turbo, and moved past Game Central Station onto mobile space where it thrives!

dead just on the Wii U
