Know that ongoing discussion where some people were saying they only trusted developer quotes if they attach their names to it? Yeah.

So you must not be around gaming industry for too long.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

I've just never seen the exclusivity of a title attacked like this before. Before the announcement that it would be only on X1/PC/360 for 'the lifetime of the title,' TONS of forumdwellers were like 'Yeah, we'll be getting Titanfall on PS4 by the end of the year.' As soon as it was definitively stated that wasn't the case, you start seeing stuff like this.
Who the hell cares. Some things are just exclusives. I get that a lot of people want to play this game. That's what quality exclusive titles are for: to make you want the console they are exclusive to. Everybody is just so caught up in this idea that they have to hate MS over their X1 unveiling that they are expressing really complicated emotions over this game's exclusivity.
It's ridiculous. You want to play it, but you don't want to buy an X1 just to play it, or maybe you sort of do and it's making you feel weird. Whatever. The point of a top-notch exclusive is to make you want to buy the console. It's why people buy Nintendo to play Smash, it's why people buy Sony to play tons of titles, and its why people buy Xbox to play Halo and Gears and whatever else.
It's just creepy the way some people are fixating on Titanfall and coming up with conspiracies. Just admit to yourselves you want to play it and if you are dead set against hating the Xbox, get it for PC. And if you don't want to play it, chillax and think about something else.
There IS NO CONSPIRACY. There's nothing to see here. A quality exclusive has been paid for by a rich console platform. Happened before. Will happen again.
The game looks very cool. But it is inspiring some weird as hell threads. (Beta conspiracy! EA made a bad prediction! Blah blah blickity blah!)
Craziness!
Right now, Titanfall's Xbox 1 version has about 25,000 more preorders than Infamous: Second Son, so it can't have been THAT stupid of an idea to make it exclusive to Xbox 1.
well then...I guess we will be seeing another iteration of Titanfall on the PS4

LOL, this what's I was referring in another topic not long time ago, when i critizised the Greenbertg tweet, and then ioi critizised people taking notice of that spin. Everyone who was annoyed by this tweet was because of this. I knew it this will happen, that some article was going to spin the numbers....oooooggghhhh. And Greenberg knew this would happen too, that's why he didn't give explanation what "3'9m sold"really meant. |
why don't you click the link before thinking it proves you right?
hint: it's not the tweet
I love how the article puts Xbox at 3.9M vs ps4 at 4.2M, when Xbox is barely over 3M sold through as of Jan 1st, and ps4 is sold through at 4.2M as of Dec 28th.. The gap is only getting wider and will explode in February

You have not been around long, this is normal..
Also I disagree, it's a terrible move for respawn, EA, now the franchise lost any chance to be a big behemoth in the industry like COD, and will be tied to xbox, the lower selling platform, no way it ever does that well on PS now. Only one who wins is MS out of it, cannot see respawn beng happy with it.

Are you new to this or something? Most exclusives on new consoles have had the same problem. See FFvs.XIII, Beyonetta 2, FFVII and many many more.
EA foots the bill, they make the deals around the product, they make the promotion, etc. the studio makes the game while they do not have to worry about the business side and they get paid in the mean time, which is always nice.
Obviously, this is like that for most studios with most publishers... for better or for worst (would respawn have had the money to hire and retain all the talents if there was no publisher to back them up? maybe not, otherwise they would have remained indy and made all the decisions for themselves).
What I don't like about that kind of deal with third party studios is that one platform owner takes in project that would have been available to others and pay the IP owner to not publish it... it's not very constructive, I would prefer it if they build their own teams and made games that would not otherwise exist for their platform.

So... if this is common, that's even sadder. People should learn their lesson and realize the only way to play every game is to own every console.
It's really that simple, and tooth gnashing and hand wringing online is just a waste of time you could be using making enough money to buy three video game systems.
