The Dells... Why the 11 instead of 13? You don't use 10bit color when gaming, and the 13 is much better in other regards. And why 2 of them instead of 1 or 3 if it's only for gaming? Eyefinity is useless with two monitors.

Actually, one of the big advantages of 10bit colour in gaming is less colour banding.
It's more evident in older games such as Homeworld 2 where the maps background picture doesn't have a smooth colour grading on 8bit or lower panels, is it worth the expense of a 10bit panel? That's up to the individual.

As for Eyefinity, some games work well with just 2 monitors like Supreme Commander or Civilization, it's the games where you have a crosshair smack dab in the middle of the bezels that are useless. :P

I would hazard a guess it's not for gaming primarily, he/she has a graphics tablet and the panels to suit.

Know the feeling. I've been told that game pics I posted weren't actually from my rig, but instead "bullshots" and that the rig I claim to own is also BS.

In any event, good stuff you're working with there (as I see much of the PC brethren in here have covered).

Well. You don't have anything to prove IMHO.
But I've also been in a similar situation, bunch of print screens of my hardware was enough though.

I'm assuming it's jelousy as they aren't part of the PC gaming master race. :P

Bwahahaha

Hoping this isn't too off topic but since there's some pretty smart PC builders here I was wondering for a budget PC build is a APU the best way to go?

I'm not a huge PC gamer but I do enjoy the occassional game, it will be connected to my tv.

Depends on your needs ofcourse ...

What performance are you expecting out of your PC ?

There are allot of variables that need to be considered.

Such as...
* Your budget.
* What resolution are you gaming at? (I.E. 1366x768 or 1920x1080 which are the common TV resolutions.)
* Form factor. (ITX, I.E. Shoe-box sized, Micro-ATX, ATX etc'.)
* Upgradeability.
* Performance, I.E. Intel are faster than AMD in the CPU space, AMD are generally faster in the GPU space at any given price point, are your workloads/games more CPU or GPU heavy? (RTS games generally favor the CPU, FPS generally favors the GPU.)
* Noise. (AMD stock coolers, put jet engines to shame.)
* Overclocking.

1.$500 (been looking at the new 2014 budget gaming pcs and they look really interesting.

2. 1920x1080 is my next TV.

3. This is sometihng to do with the motherboard, I haven't got much thought into that (never built a PC before always wanted to.)

4. Some, but I'm not overly worried (I proabably see myself playing a lot of older games on my PC, and most of the new ones would the PS3/PS4.

5. The only workload would be the games and like I said I'm not looking to maxed out all settings, maybe around high. (I don't play current RTS games)

6. Quiet would be nice for a living room computer, I don't want to be cranking the volume on the TV because the PC get's to loud.

7. Doubtful.

So pretty basic.

I recommend signing up here, selecting your country and having a fiddle
https://pcpartpicker.com

Has you pick out components then lists compatible parts only as you progress, and lists cheapest places to buy said parts and the prices, if any, for shipping.

Scale back the CPU and GPU, or consider second hand parts for certain components (ram, CPU), while something like an i7 920 is quite old its still a good performer and runs crysis 3 nice and fast with the latest GPU, but you'll be wanting to look at GPUs around the 100-180 range

Also at the price you're hoping to spend custom cooling or fancy/expensive cases are a big nono, you may also want to consider picking up a gpu second hand too, I would suggest a gtx580 as they can be found used for $120 ish , not amazing but not crap either, the problem you have buying most amd cards used is a lot of them are high priced because of the demand from bitcoin miners hiking up the rates.

Beautiful build. And here I was happy with my new build. Still nothing comes close to even maxing my one 780ti so I cant complain.
