Forums - Nintendo - How can Nintendo win generation 9?

I am just looking for a pool of ideas that people have on this forum. What sort of things could Nintendo do over the next 3-4 years in order to ensure a solid Generation 9 launch, and a run that will be between winning and total domination of the home console market for at least 4 years?

Just so there's no mistake, that means they have the top selling console no matter which one is the primary console of the other companies, so  ahead of PS4, PS5, Xbox One, or Xbox Two. Domination for the purpose of this thread will be outselling all rival consoles combined.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Get off of the "Wii" high and do something new

Th e-sport game console

Dont launch underpowered hardware too early and call it next gen when its not.

hybrid console . handheld + home console = win
but please with better graphics than ps4/x1 otherwise it´s last gen again...

Around the Network

1) Console/handheld hybrid.
2) Launch 2017; at least 2 years ahead of the competition
3) Needs to be strong enough power wise to compete, 100% needs to be able to receive ports from other gen 9 consoles
4) More autonomy in NOA and NOE in terms of marketing, but also creative control over games
5a) Support Wii U through to 2018/19, keep the family on the U until the next gen launches and the 2 year old Fusion can take a price cut to draw in the family crowd. In the meantime ensure that the niche and blockbuster games are well represented.
5b) Example big game timetable:
Launch: Zelda and Metroid
Xmas 1: 3D Mario and Smash Brothers
Xmas 2 (following PS5 launch and hefty price drop): Mario Kart and 2D Mario
6) Buy up good quality devs to ensure that, if 3rd parties flee again, Nintendo has the ability to maintain a solid release schedule.

Well Wii did so well because of innovation....

and that's pretty much what Nintendo needs to do to win.

Innovation that gets the interest of gamers and non-gamers alike, along with the regular core classic Nintendo games.

They'll never when a specfest fight even if they have the highest specs.

Sony goes out of business due to financial turmoil and Microsoft abandons Xbox because it's not profitable enough. We're looking waaaaaay into the future, though. This gen has barely begun and I'm sure the landscape will change in ways we can't imagine.

I guess travelling to the past and releasing a much different console than the WiiU is their most realistic option.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Well Kasz216 pretty much said it. The key here is innovation, they need another hit like the Wii! Another blue ocean!

Specs are not going to make their next console sell better. Better specs doesn't translate into better third party support, at least for Nintendo.
