Exactly.  TLOU is great, but  Mario Bros,  Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Halo Combat Evolved, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto III, Devil May Cry and many others  had a bigger impact than TLOU.

Don't you think 6 months after release is a bit early to decide what impact TLOU will have on games? Or are you going to tell me that people knew 6 months after its release that Mario Bros for example would still be relevant 30 years later?

I am sorry, but Super Mario Bros invented the 2D platforming genre as we know it today. I just don't see TLOU having the same impact..... gameplay-wise at least.

You never know. All I'm saying is that it 's premature to say that TLOU won't have as much of an impact on games as some of the games you listed.

You may be right. Maybe it will have quite the impact. It remains to be seen.

I think TLoU suffers from the Metal Gear Solid 4 syndrome. When it came, it suddenly become a masterpiece. Critics of everywhere were praising MGS4. It didn't matter their bias or console of preference: it was just that good. Game of the Generation, already; it had almost the same meta than TLoU. (One point less).

It's 2013, and most people have forgotten that game.

Maybe it's not the case with TLoU. Maybe it stands against time and newer games, or maybe it won't. Only time will prove if I am wrong.

So much butt-hurtiness that it is funny. Go celebrate the game you preffer and stop bitching because TLOU obliterated it inser. lity and reception.

Except the game I prefer obliterated TLOU in all those things and more OOT 99 > 95 :P

Yes, with 23 reviews in a time reviewers didn't scored less because of the platform of release.

It's a great game (that i never played but intend) and I don't see People trashing it. But Some love to say sony fans trash all that isn't sony and other fanbase are peacefull people bullied by evil sonyites.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Awards are meaningless. At least 3/4's of all Ps3 owners didn't think so. They didn't but it.

I enjoyed it, I would say it's one of the better games I've played in the last few years. So many people with vastly different tastes and different gaming histories it surprises me that this game came out on top.

Naughty dog are probably the worlds most talent studio, they have always been known to deliver top rated games (sept when they first formed) i expect Uncharted 4 to come close to this many awards.

I still consider MGS4 to be one of the best games of last gen, it's 4th after demon souls, dark souls, TLOU :)

I cried like a little girl at the end of MGS4 :P

Next ND game will take that crown from TLOU. It's a matter of time.

Well deserved.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well deserved.....
however i cant call it game of the generation as fact because well...i havent played all the games this gen. That being said, in my honest opinion TLOU, Journey and MGS4 had the biggest impact on me as a gamer this gen. Thus making them my games of the gen. When a game can effect me emotionally through gameplay, visually or with story, you have a winner.

I would also like to mention that i played bioshock series, mass effect series, zelda SWS and mario galaxy series. All fantastic games (..maybe not Zelda SWS..was utterly disappointing and tired of it but its zelda so whatever lol) however for me personally nothing on the level as the games i've listed above.

Yes, but you have to admit, MGS4's popularity is nowhere NEAR to that one back in 2008.

Oh, and I cried as well xD
