Would I consider The Last of Us a quality game? I would.

Do I think it's deserving of GoTY? Yes.

Is it overrated and overhyped? At this point, absolutely.

I'll never forget the year Skyrim came out, Ign gave zelda skyward sword and uncharted 3 10's but then gave their game of the year award to portal 2 which got a 9.5.

Exactly. TLOU is great, but Mario Bros, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Halo Combat Evolved, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto III, Devil May Cry and many others had a bigger impact than TLOU.

Don't you think 6 months after release is a bit early to decide what impact TLOU will have on games? Or are you going to tell me that people knew 6 months after its release that Mario Bros for example would still be relevant 30 years later?
