So much butt-hurtiness that it is funny. Go celebrate the game you preffer and stop bitching because TLOU obliterated it in quality and reception.

Except the game I prefer obliterated TLOU in all those things and more OOT 99 > 95 :P

I dont mean to debate has i am just a lurker in this site... but ocarina of time has 99 of metacritic in only 22 reviews, if 100 reviewers had given their opinion about the game it would have performed worst in meta.

I am the new kid in town!!!

I think TLoU suffers from the Metal Gear Solid 4 syndrome. When it came, it suddenly become a masterpiece. Critics of everywhere were praising MGS4. It didn't matter their bias or console of preference: it was just that good. Game of the Generation, already; it had almost the same meta than TLoU. (One point less).

It's 2013, and most people have forgotten that game.

Maybe it's not the case with TLoU. Maybe it stands against time and newer games, or maybe it won't. Only time will prove if I am wrong.

Not really true. You mention MGS4 to people and many people will still say one of these

1. They got a PS3 because of that game.

2. Its the best or one of the best PS3 exclusives. (Very impressive considering the games the PS3 has)

3. The best game out at the time.

4. Favourite game.

It goes to stand how good as game is when people were still saying it was gong multiplat years after it released. Remember the game came out in 2008.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Now it's settled, those "awards" have 0 credibility.

Aww it's too bad 3D World didn't win. Then it would have been perfect right? Have you even played TLOU Zero? Or does your blind hatred of Sony prevent you from enjoying any of their game offerings.

He has a different opinion. Therefor he is a fanboy? Hypocrisy is the world I'm thinking.

on-topic: Awards mean nothing on the Internet. 150 awards from 100 sites you never heard of or known of means nothing. It's not even like critic awards were you have actual creditability. The facts are unless you can prove all these awards mean something than there is no reason to bring it up. It reminds me of when 3d world won game of the year by eurogamer. Why does it matter what they consider is game of the year. You don't go to college or some program to determine this.

His opinion basically is "Everybody is wrong except me"

The awards mean that people liked the game, if most people liking something doesn't prove the quality of something then what does it?

Look up the bandwagon fallacy. Random awards from random sites have to substance. Did you look up the awards to see if they have reason or is a creditable site? If I had a poll on nintendo site saying what is better game wind waker or god of war. If zelda won would you therefor say well it got the most votes therefor it's the best. This whole argument that quality of game is determined from Internet awards is fallacious by nature. You don't even know what games they played this year and what they actually like as genre.

Alright lets use Metacritic then, it has a current score of 95 and is the game with the most perfect scores in the site with over 40, Metacrict is the best and most recognized score collectors and it takes reviews from the most prestigious sites and publications from the media but if that is not enough then lets see the user's score, it has a 9.1 with over 5,000 reviews, if I'm not mistaken it´s the best user's score on the site. Seems like both critics and gamers love the game.

I'm not saying everybody will love this game, but you can't say people's opinion have "zero credibility" just because you don´t agree

I'm saying people opinions on games based on how the current system works is meaningless. You use metacritic right? Well you must love Skyrim which has a 92 on PS3. The movie critics at least have standards and don't usually have brand loyalists. Some sites like polygon are more negative towards Sony and while others thnk Sony is God like Ign. It's too subjective these reviews. Plus we live in a day were critics flat out ignore things because of hype. Look at skyrim on ps3 which was released broken. 92 on metacritic. The last of us had objective problems. Ai that wasn't that good.glitches like Ellen floating to heaven and others.A story that really wasn't really new if watch movies. The story isn't even amazing by movie standards, only by video game standards because how low it is. Gameplay being average. Nobody I hear talks about the gameplay being a masterpiece. The point being is some people weight things differently and none of them have any standard. What makes a game masterpiece? The story? The gameplay? Why are they more valid than me? This why metacritic and Internet awards are a joke and only valid for followers in life.

"Excuse me sir, I see you have a weapon. Why don't you put it down and let's settle this like gentlemen"  ~ max

I find it humorous how people claim that these awards "mean nothing" and yet are in here arguing why other games are more "deserving" than The Last of Us. I am simply presenting factual information provided by website and media sources around the planet, this is not artificially constructed, this is a fact.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I had no problems with glitches or bad AI in the game. The enemy AI was one of the best In any video game to date, especially the humans. You make it sound like everyone who played the game had glitches, a small minority only got glitches which is normal for games.(I realize the PS3 version of Skyrim is the exception) Also I think the gameplay was a masterpiece too, the melee combat especially. I have honestly never seen such brutal and amazing melee combat. The best part about TLOU is how they blend everything together. You couldn't make up any better reasons? That just shows how fantastic the game is.

and please, don't kill me!

Why are they overrated? Because they experimented with one franchise, learned and tried new things to create another? The Last of Us is the experience based off of a wealth of talent and experimentation throughout the entire generation. When it comes down to it Naughty Dog walked out of this generation the MVP and not only that they walked out with two gem franchises.

There were indeed AI issues that broke immersion. You must have been lucky not to see them. Or just looking the other way.

I think that's pretty much proof that Sony paid off reviewers.

Or, ya know, maybe they made a masterpiece. But whatever. Sorry you feel hurt you didn't get to play it.

I guess you are not keeping up with the news to see obvious joke being obvious.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I'm being serious here, but why does everyone love this game so much? I find it pretty overrated, just like when Skyrim came out.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

It has clearly resonated and impacted critics and gamers more than any other game in history

Ummmm...... no.

Exactly.  TLOU is great, but  Mario Bros,  Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Halo Combat Evolved, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto III, Devil May Cry and many others  had a bigger impact than TLOU.

Plus didn't people on this site just vote The Ocarina of Time the best game of all time?
