I want to see it dead too but I also want to see the PS3 beat the Wii in sales(even though that seems very unlikely).
If PS3 doesn't reach the 100m it will always be a dark spec in the PS history.

Horrible idea.
(1) Not everyone moves over to a new console during the launch window. Just look around here on VGC, allot of gamer's are stating that they will not purchase a PS4 until more compelling software is released. So what are these gamer's supposed to do in the mean time ?

(2) The PS3 has over 80 million units sold vs the PS4 4 million sold. Looking at this stat, its obvious that a developer will have the chance of selling more units of their game on the ps3. They are in the business to make money.

(3) Take a look at the sales charts on the main page. The Vita has been on sale for over 1 year now, yet the PSP is still selling around 20-30k per week. That's huge. Why would you kill off "FREE" money ?

I understand your pain. I myself want to see more PS4 titles released, but I also understand that the ps3 has had current games in development for years now and still take till end of year to be released. There will be tons of games released for the ps4, just be patient. Sony is letting the 3rd party developers have an early taste of unit sales, hence mostly 3rd party titles being released at launch and Drive Club being pushed back, (Giving NFS:Rivals all the room to sell), Come iNFAMOUS and beyond, you will be a happy gamer.

Personally I think it's much more dangerous to the Vita - the price gap between a Vita and the 12GB PS3 is tiny and the latter has a far larger back catalogue from which to choose. This is why I'm hoping PS Now works well - VitaTV isn't particularly attractive right now except for the price, but if you could reliably stream the entire PS backlog plus have access to the Vita library for a very small price, it may prove more much more enticing

Personally though I'm still sceptical as to whether or not it'll work but if SCEA in particular won't make any games for it or get larger 3rd parties on board then I'm not sure there's much else worth trying
