I remember back when some N64 games were going for over $100 up here (Doom 64 being the most expensive, if I remember correctly) Of course, it won't get that bad anymore.

Nooooo, and plus we pay tax on that as well. So we will actually be paying like $74 in total for a new game :O

You call that expensive? Try living in germany. We pay around 70 € for Next Gen titles right now, which is about 95 $. Even at 60 € we still have to pay 80 $.

Ah damn it, I'm a Canadian living in South Korea at the moment but I'm coming back at the end of this year and I was going to buy the PS4 and Wii U when I got back, but now....

I remember when PS3 launched in Canada it was $649.99 and games were $69.99. I didn't buy games at those prices and I will be buying less game for sure if it goes to $64.99. I'll go full on to the pre-owned model and won't look back.

You only pay 12% tax? Here in Portugal it's a wallet-robbing 23%, with new games going up to 70-75€ (103 - 111 CAD) and our goverment is thinking about increasing that tax to 24% plus retailers have sneakly tweaked prices almost to 80€ (Game and FNAC were selling GTA V PS3/360 on the first week at that price) a few times. Oh, and outside PS3/360 games, we rarely see any drop in prices in the first two/three years for any game.

Gaming is quickly becoming a luxury.
