So we all know that many people were put off by what Microsoft tried to do with the Xbox1 initially, including myself. Many people I know, and a lot of people on various forums I frequent have made the switch from the 360 last gen to the PS4 this gen, again, myself included.

I'm yet to hear of anyone making the opposite switch. Have you or anybody you know made the switch from Sony to Microsoft this gen and why?

I'm guess those that have are silent. Considering the fact that Xbox1 was the best selling console on NPD, some must've made the switch. These days, PS4 is the "cool" console though so don't expect people to admit it.

I just find it very strange that they seem to have sold fairly well in the U.S but I still haven't heard of anyone swithching to them. Could it be that only the diehard microsoft fans are the ones buying the Xbox1 and they aren't attracting new customers?

If so I expect their sales to drop off the cliff unless they can attract at least some of the PS3 audience.

Ok, so were you planning on buying both consoles or will you be sticking exclusively to the Xbox1 now that you've switched and are you happy with your decision or do you regret not having the patience to wait for a PS4??

Actually, I should have said it was a friend of mine, sorry about that!

But to answer your question cause I told him wtf... He basically said that, he had two weeks off over the christmas break and he wanted a next gen console so he went out to get a ps4 but he got an x1 instead... He is really happy with his decision and he loves the controller but he thinks the Kinect is useless but cool at first. He might get a ps4 still but maybe in 2015 or later but most likely not since the main reason he wanted to get a ps4 was cause of games like FFXV and MGSV but both are coming to the x1 anyway

Ok here me out on this...maybe...just maybe...the Xbox name MIGHT be popular in the US?

The Xbox brand is popular in the US going back to the orginial X-Box (66% of its sales where in North America) I'm pretty sure that is his point.

Xbox selling more (barely) in December and still losing overall in the US is not good enough. We knew Sony was going to dominate Europe because of last gen when they launched 1 1/2 years later and way more expensive and still beat them pretty badly there. So naturally MS has to dominate the areas they dominated last gen to at least hold even. I think it's pretty clear that's not going to happen now.
