So those magical Android profits, where are they now? Because they're certainly not in HARDWARE. Oh but wait, the Hardware division profited. I thought it lost $2b annually thanks to Xbox?

Shows how dumb those people were touting that, and here is your proof.

LoL I forgot about this one.

N1!

Dallas won't be happy :P

Microsoft always blows my mind with how much money they make every quarter. $6.5 billion, holy fuck. They sure know how to run a business.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I said it all the way back in october: the numbers simply don´t add up! There should be adjustments in the range of at least 1,5 mn and will probably still place X360 as the second place console after the Wii for 7th generation.

...after the 360 had a year head start over the Wii and PS3.  But...you're fighting over 1.5mn unit scraps, for "bragging rights".  Seems legit... :-/

Is that you PlayStationLegend?

Nope.  Don't know who that is, but I wouldn't mind taking up the moniker of "The Playstation Legend".  Sounds good!

so, they could ship 3.9m consoles and people said microsoft's only reason why they don't release the console in more countries are massive production issues and the reasons microsoft was talking about are all lies?

sounds plausible...

The reason for not releasing the console is definitely not the huge demand in the tier 1 countries etiher. 3.9 million shipped and 3 million sell-through definitely shows that it is time to increase to country count.

Not sure if you understood what I tried to say but you pretty much underlined what I said. Microsoft could have shipped easily to the small European countries since they know that they are only a very small part for Xbox. But they still didn't do it. Microsoft explained why but people were just like "that are all lies, the reason is that they can't ship enough because of huuuge production problems" which is simply wrong, shipping enough wasn't a problem.

I wasn't disagreeing with you, just saying that production issues would have been a better excuse for Microsoft's sake instead of less demand. There is obviously not much of a production problem but there are always  someone believing things like that lol.

at the end of the day you are a local mediamarkt guy in Switzerland.
Judging by my own experiences I made with your colleagues, I just have my doubts that you are able to oversee or estimate global shipments and sell through numbers from Microsoft. Sorry.

lol at first sentence. This might completely confuse you but watching stock levels in some local MediaMarkts/Interdiscounts/Manors gives you a surprisingly exact view about stock situations in Switzerland as a whole. I know you don't want to read this but there are unseen before amounts of unsold XBox360s sitting in shops right now..

Megalol at your second attempt in forming a logical sentence. It's in the MS quarterly results we are discussing here. I don't need to estimate anything - IT'S IN THE F*CKING REPORT. 3.9mio manufactured, 3mio sold => 0.9mio in transit somewhere. Don't know how consoles end up in your shop? Learn how corporations ship stuff from China to somewhere.

Seriously, why do get certain fans so sensitive when someone tries to explain basic stuff to them that seems to make them so touchy since it seems to go against their preconceived notions?

That's good a quarter for MS but no bloody news on the new CEO.

3.9m Xbox Ones shipped to retailers. That's is a lot of Xbox Ones still on the boat.

Good quarter report.

Which means shipped? right?

Yes, but I am just trying to get rid of that term "overshipped", because you can't do this.

You can most certainly do this if, as is the case this christmas with the X1 and PS4, retailers don't know how big real demand is and can only take pre order numbers as an indication. Maybe the term "overordered" would be better, but the fact remains that despite stellar sales there are still alot of retailers that had more X1s on shelves this christmas than they'd have needed, especially in europe. That's why I don't get why MS doesn't announce any new countries already.

haha classic reaction!

I did the very same thing you did and you did not even notice.

You: Small sample (your local media markt) overstocked. Conclusion: the console is overstocked globally.
Me: Small sample (my local media markt employees) employees are stupid. Conclusion: Every media mark employee is stupid.

And the fact that you changed to Xbox One numbers when we talked about Xbox 360 numbers before is just icing on the cake.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Damn, almost 1M Ones on shelves already? I think it's safe to say demand has definitely dropped. And 360 is definitely ~1M undertracked.

Of course, overall, great quarter for MS.
