I think the next FE game will also be on 3DS, I would'nt be surprised if it was a direct sequel to Awakening. Many years after awakening where you play as the offsprings of Awakening's character such as Lucina and Morgan perhaps?

This is the only nintendo series I like having played Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn on my brother's wii. My question would be: when is the next home console fire emblem? It seems that the series is historically more successful on handhelds so I'm not holding my breath. I wonder if that's a side effect of the handhelds just being more successful in general or the fans truly preferring handheld.

Well, while not part of the "main series", the next game is Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, which is being co-developed by Atlus and Intelligent Systems, for Wii U. It's going to cross the two games and their gameplay. No real reveal yet, no pics, no release window, but the hope is it releases in 2014.

Fire Emblem: Awakening is a great game but it felt like there´s was something missing. The story only involved a few characteres and the rest was there just as an army. Almost all maps had the same objective, it felt repetitive in that department.  There was also lack of political drama unlike in prevoius games, that's the main reason I didn't like the story that much. Music was really amazing though, id~Purpose is one of my favorite Fire Emblem songs. Oh and Lucida should have replaced Marth in the next SSB. I CHALLENGE MY FATE!

This is what I would like to see in future Fire Emblem games:

1. Incenst

2. Wincest

3. Twincest

Why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?

Who knows. Awakening intentionally defied series norms and turned out to be a success, and SMTxFE will be whatever the hell it's supposed to be. The rulebook has been thrown into the fire and IS seems keen on experimentation.

Personally, I want to see a new IP that takes Awakening's design philosophy to its logical conclusion: the genesis of the sandbox SRPG genre. Will it happen? Nope. Nothing like it will exist until, later in my life, I pull a Kurt Schilling and invest all of my money into AAA game development.

It may be a difficult game, but after playing so many Fire Emblem games, I thought it was much easier than previous entries, and you can change the difficulty settings.

Ahh i see. Just curious. What difficulty were you playing at? Was it the hardest one with that perma-death on?

I played on hard, with perma-death on the first playthrough, then I played on lunatic on the second playthrough. Lunatic was a lot harder in ther first levels, but after chapter 10 or so it was almost the same thing.

Maybe Fire Emblem Wii U?

Ive only played Path of Radiance, Radiant Dawn, and Awakening- my brother played both the GBA ones.

I like Awakening the best, but I like being able to grind. Also if you change difficulty to hard and play it on classic it is IMO a little harder than Radiant Dawn.

My brother likes the 2nd GBA one the best out of all of them, and it had grinding in it.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Hard/Classic was pretty challenging at certain parts, but I think it's hard to compare the games that allow grinding to the more linear games. Though Sacred Stones (the 2nd localizezed GBA game) wasn't quite as grind-happy as Awakening was. You could fight enemies on the map, but since there wasn't a reclassing option, you were basically limited to maxing out at Promoted 20.

Out of curiousity, have you played Radiant Dawn on Hard (Maniac) mode? I actually didn't try that challenge. Hector Hard Mode on the first localized Fire Emblem (FE7: Rekka no Ken) was by far my hardest FE challenge, but I've heard a few fans claim that Radiant Dawn's hardest difficulty is comparable. It just sounded like, instead of increasing the enemy's numbers or levels, it decreased the amout of experience playable characters obtain. It didn't seem like the sort of challenge I was interested in, since the cast of that game was so huge.
