I'm always surprised how well cod sells in Japan.

depends on how many get sold at launch.

launch week sales / 0.35 = Japan LTD. 

500,000 / 0.35 = 1.428M

ps4 flop confirmed.

That kind of depends on how accurate the sampling was.  If the 35% is truly representative of the total Japanese gaming market, then, based on totals of last gen hardware, that's about 12 million sales at launch.  So obviously, a lot.

If the 1000 is just based on the home console market, then about 8 million in sales.  If the 1000 is based on current PS3 owners, then that's about 4 million launch sales.

However, random sampling was probably not utilized.  The survey was just issued and whoever filled it out filled it out (this is not random sampling).  The people who filled it out were most likely people who already had strong opinions on the PS4 one way or another and as readers of Famitsu were more serious gamers than the average gaming populace.  

So basically, it's like an internet poll and should be taken as seriously as you take most of those.

Final Fantasy will once again be the top selling franchise on Playstation in Japan, just like the 3 gens before it.

This poll is only from 1000 people. I will remember this, but I will personally wait for the sales numbers.

I think PS4 is going to be a beast in Japan. The total sales from home consoles last gen is ~24M so far. I see the market shrinking again, but no more than 4M, so total sales will be ~20M. I'll give the One 1M sales, as I don't see it doing well in Japan without the year head start the 360 had. MS also seems like they aren't worried about launching there any time soon. That leaves 19M between the Wii U and PS4. Seeing as the Wii U seems to only do well during the holiday season, with slight bumps from bigger games, I don't see it doing more than 5M there. So, that leaves ~14M for the PS3.
